Looking forward to seeing what Chamberlain has to offer, big season for him getting thrown straight in.
Thought I'd read a couple of weeks back that Graham was back from injury.

There are quite a few surprise omissions or selections for Edinburgh. Graham, Bradbury, Richie and Pyrgos missing for Edinburgh entirely plus Sutherland over Shoeman and Nel over Berghan possibly slightly surprising.
Really looking forward to this one. I think it will be very close.

Oh, come on. For as long as I have been involved in rugby, the highest number of injuries happen when pre-season moves to full contact. You're guaranteed to lose a few players during the first week of full contact work prepping for the league season ahead. That won't be any different with the pros, and is possibly more likely after an extremely long lay-off.

Fair enough - it certainly surprised me given the long layoff and the short period of training so far.

An hour beforehand should do, that’s when we normally ask the staff to arrive.

Hope the usual streaming sites work as I joined the Castle club, got the promo code for Premier Sports, but can't renew as my payment cards all expire within a year.

Jones not tested too much so far, all very loose and both teams kicking fairly poorly.
That said a fairly timid clearing kick from Jones not to touch conceded a try on return.
Can't look past the thought that the knockouts will be on whomever switches on quickest.

Only time he has been challenged (by Taylor) he knocked on.
Lovely try by Shiel as I type.

I wonder if Chamberlain starts next week. 4 minutes isn't much experience and he may have to play in a semi now.

If Munster get zero points this evening then quite possibly - if my maths is correct that would put Edinburgh beyond them no matter what happens next week.
Some really good rugby in that game I thought and some very good individual performances on both sides. The Edinburgh back row were superb, Scott Cummings was excellent and Jaco VdW was very good.
Jones was solid at FB although not really tested. Both front rows were solid too - hard to say either had the upper hand.
Seymour was utterly anonymous - I'm not sure I remember his name being said a single time the whole match. Duhan was fairly anonymous too, but popped up with that one excellent run that led to the second Groom try.
Nobody had a poor match really.

Edinburgh are definitely in the semi Scarlets cant catch them. Munster game determines home/away although that's still in Edinburgh's hands too.

Exactly, that's what I mean. Edinburgh will want a home semi. If Munster lose tonight however, that is secured and therefore there is no risk in playing Chamberlain from the start. If Munster win tonight then expect the strongest possible Edinburgh side next week.
Edinburgh play before Munster both matches so Munster will know what is required next week should they win tonight. They will also know next week if Edinburgh have lost.

If Munster lose with a Bonus Point, we’re still guaranteed a home semi. They’d be five points behind us, but have won two games less. Games won is first decider.

Sorry, I’m confused. It’s either Away to Leinster or home to Ulster.

Even better. I can't see them beating Leinster tonight but who knows how both teams will be after a lay off this long.

Ah ok, I'm with you.
I'd still start him. The (potential) 3 games after are a semi, final and quarter. I'd rather he starts next week than in any of those with little to no game time.

Maybe the chat about him being Scotland qualified isn’t so stupid after all. If he plays like that consistently he’ll definitely be worth a spot in and around the squad. He’s solid but not spectacular, sometimes that’s worth having.
Still quite young too, he’ll be around another 6+ years all things going well.

Yep. Russell 27, Van der Walt 26, Hastings 23, and Chamberlain coming through only 19.

Didn’t see the game tonight due to dinner, bath and bed time (not mine). I’ve been extremely underwhelmed by him until now so good to hear he has had a decent game

Looking at the stats, Edinburgh possibly should have won by more:
Glasgow : Edinburgh
1 : Clean Breaks : 5
2 : Defenders Beaten : 18
143 : Number of Tackles : 128
18 : Missed Tackles : 2
89% : Tackle Success : 98%
2 : Turnovers Won : 5
18 : Penalties Conceded : 13
Glasgow didn't win on a single stat, attacking or defending. I actually felt the game was really even and although the winning margin was 15, that was a little flattering to Edinburgh. Now I'm not so sure.

I thought Groom had a good game, possibly one of his best for Edinburgh. I'm maybe being harsh on him as I'm expecting more from him as a marquee player.

Manged to watch the game as found a link, that will do me since Premier don't want my money. Great to see live rugby, maybe my Castle membership will let me see it in person sooner than later. The Munster angle gave it purpose, and in hindsight given the result it was probably a good idea to have some meaningful action and warm up before the playoffs.

I thought he was poor. His delivery is so slow - Price caught him a fair few times and I believe once led to a Glasgow try.
Shiel meanwhile is absolutely electric. If he was at Glasgow he'd be a Scotland regular by now.
