After this weekend matches its obvious that the Stormers and Lions have some really good youngsters coming through.

Bulls and Sharks. The Sharks look good the period when they took it through phases but for some reason they overdo the box kicks. Both teams did this in the opposition half._Os_ wrote: Sat Oct 15, 2022 8:22 pmHis Bok/Sharks/Brumbies teams were good (didn't watch other teams he's coached), even this Bulls team of his was better than this. Ha ha true. Maybe even killed. Bees Roux and Henry Tromp would have loved playing against the current Sharks team. One of the Blue Bulls even cut the head off his victim.Chilli wrote: Sun Oct 30, 2022 3:00 pmThose soft $outies would get poes klapped by the Bulls in a faait.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Oct 30, 2022 2:53 pm Sharks sad losers. Lets move on to the test thread. This weekend test against our new rival, Ireland is going to be massive.

Pretty pleased about Connachts position in the table. We've had a brutal initial set of fixtures, & played some of our away games in SA, & we're only a couple of points off the top half of the table
The down side is a few more of our players are now odds on to be playing for Ireland, & while it's great for them, we'll lose them for an extra chunk of time now with the mandatory rest periods

The URC continues while the 6 Nations are on. This will help the SA franchises.

Would you like to be Munster with probably no H cup rugby next year!
I know this is going to sound smug from a Leinster supporter; but a season concentrating on your bread and butter (the URC), instead of 'miracle match' NTHCSBH matches might be good for Munster. I think Rowntree needs to be given time, but fret that the Munsterati will start to flex their muscles and their media comments towards the end of the season when it becomes absolutely clear Munster will not qualify for the HEC, and possibly not the playoffs.Uncle fester wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 7:26 pmThe price of success.fishfoodie wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 6:15 pm Pretty pleased about Connachts position in the table. There are still a long season ahead. Last year this time all the Saffer teams were at the bottom of the log.
Surely Munster will get their mojo back. No doubt about it.

This is where the tie is so critical. I'm sure most Saffa teams would prefer to tour during the 6N, especially to play the Irish teams.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 6:51 pm The URC continues while the 6 Nations are on. This will help the SA franchises.
There's not much separating a lot of teams in that league table.

Except
Stormers play Leinster and Ulster away
Sharks play Edinburgh away
Bulls play Ulster away
Lions play Connacht away
during the 6 Nations.
I assume these games are on during the bye weeks of the 6N? If so then at least the provinces will have the fringe Irish players back for those weeks to give them some game time.OomStruisbaai wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 7:15 amWe play mostly derbiesassfly wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 6:41 amThis is where the tie is so critical. SA franchises playing against the Welsh teams. They will be also without their internationals. 15 players were from the Ospreys, seven from the Scarlets, five from Cardiff and three from the Dragons.

Wolhuter chance. Not a single starter from the URC final. No locks. CC team. I would have Xaba in 6. The bench is OK except the Prince of flyhalves.
That's mental.
