Cancelled. Cronje kick again. Doos.
Cardiff are great. Sharks are utterly, completely, embarrassingly clueless with the ball.robmatic wrote: Sun Nov 27, 2022 5:44 pm I'm busy this evening so can't watch, but is that score I'm seeing correct? Cardiff are horsing the Sharks?

But then Cardiff has been very good. The Bulls will need to step up next week.

They played well. Also beat the Stormers in that stormy weather at Cardiff.
Well done Cardiff, played the conditions much more intelligently than us.
As for the $harks, that must be the worst performance I've seen in many years, and there is quite a selection to choose from.
I had a feeling when I saw the team sheet that something is not right with this team. Too many journeymen. It showed in their performance, they looked like they didn't give a shit. The amount of dropped balls was comical, I don't think we could pass it more than 3 times without dropping it. You'd think we'd never played in the rain before.
I though the ref was poor in the first half, but Venter did nothing to try and mitigate it.
Everitt has to go. Powell has to make the call.

Cardiff win was the only away win in that entire round.

It was the first Welsh team win in South Africa in URC. Will be interesting to see if they can follow up against the Bulls.

Stormers country first approach, giving all their Boks a rest and developing and rewarding those standing in. Can cost them log points.

The Stormers C team will destroy you now. That match is in Feb. After this weekend it's Heineken for two weeks before the Derbies starts.Sards wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 3:27 pm Don't the Sharks still have a match against the Stormers to play. Would be nice if we had that match now

Stormers will rest Kitshoff, Malherbe and Willemse.
Sharks will rest Kolisi, Etsebeth and Bongi, they also got the good news of Curwin to the rescue.

I still believe this was orchestrated by the players to force the removal of Everett

Almost a completely new $harks team:
Sharks: 15 Henry Chamberlain, 14 Marnus Potgieter, 13 Francois Venter, 12 Ben Tapuai, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Curwin Bosch, 9 Jaden Hendrikse, 8 Phendulani Buthelezi (captain), 7 Jeandre Labuschagne, 6 Sikhumbuzo Notshe, 5 Gerbrandt Grobler, 4 Vincent Tshituka, 3 Carlu Sadie, 2 Mbongeni Mbonambi, 1 Retshegofaditswe Nche.
Replacements: 16 Dan Jooste, 17 Ntuthuko Mchunu, 18 Khutha Mchunu, 19 Hyron Andrews, 20 James Venter, 21 Grant Williams, 22 Nevaldo Fleurs, 23 Rohan Janse van Rensburg.
It still looks slightly off-balance (like Tshituka at 4???) but at least there is a bit more pedigree in the team.

As a little side note, due to Matthew Pearce always saying Ox's real name during test matches, I've learned to say his name too. It's a fun name to say, if I look at the spelling of it now I would never have known how to pronounce it before hearing Matthew saying it. Now I keep saying it during test matches whenever he gets the ball. Ox is becoming a legend and a beast of a player.assfly wrote: Thu Dec 01, 2022 12:36 pm Almost a completely new $harks team:

I really like him as a player. I think his best years are in front of him too. Let's hope he sticks around at the $harks for a while.

Dobson told us after the Scarlets game that Manie Libbok had already contacted him from overseas to ask to play against the Dragons. According to Dobson, Libbok’s work ethic and commitment to the team he plays for borders on the obsessive, and that just about underlines his point.
