Oh no!
Anyway
Anyway
If definitely will. The stadium was sold out, although it can only seat a few thousand at best. There has been a great buzz around town the last two weeks because of those two games, and it gives the clubs purpose knowing there is a competition to play for. The EP coach was very magnanimous in defeat and said he will encourage the rest of the CC teams to come up, and I hope the same happens with Zimbabwe.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Jun 12, 2022 6:39 am Awesome. I went up to Wellington in May to watch the Simbas play Boland. Great atmosphere and the teams had an excellent social after the match.assfly wrote: Sun Jun 12, 2022 8:42 amIf definitely will. Both of those teams would do OK against the bottom 6 URC teams. Hartzenberg, Zander du Plessis, Sirgel, Otto could al do well in the URC.OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Jun 16, 2022 12:17 pmGriquas: 15 Ashlon Davids, 14 Munier Hartzenberg, 13 Sango Xamlashe, 12 Rynhardt Jonker, 11 Luther Obi, 10 Zander du Plessis, 9 Johan Mulder, 8 Sibabalo Qoma, 7 Hanru Sirgel, 6 Niel Otto (captain), 5 Derik Pretorius, 4 Johan Retief, 3 Janu Botha, 2 Janco Uys, 1 Kudzwai Dube.OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Jun 16, 2022 11:24 am Bulls: 15 Richard Kriel, 14 Tharquinn Manuel, 13 Lionel Mapoe, 12 Marco Jansen van Vuren, 11 Stedman Gans, 10 Juan Mostert, 9 Keagan Johannes, 8 Muller Uys, 7 Ruan Delport, 6 Jaco Labuschagne, 5 Reinhardt Ludwig, 4 Raynard Roets, 3 Jacques van Rooyen, 2 Jan-Hendrik Wessels, 1 Lizo Gqoboka (captain).

I wonder what Jimmy Stonehouse could do with a big budget for better players.
Griquas have won it back in the day. It would be awesome for Pumas to win it. Tinus de Beer, Eddie Fouche, Sebastien de Klerk and Devon Williams would all be good signings for URC teams. I hope they can hold onto them though.bok_viking wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 2:06 pm Who would have thought it would be a Pumas Griquas final. A new name on the trophy at last. Go Pumas.
Yeah..............but they seen to be happy with their current coach.FalseBayFC wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 1:43 pmLike if he went to the Sharks?Chilli wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 1:23 pm Well done Pumas.

I think it's fantastic. It's not easy to knock out the Bulls, Cheetahs and Sharks. Kudos to the Pumas and Griquasbok_viking wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 2:06 pm Who would have thought it would be a Pumas Griquas final. A new name on the trophy at last. Go Pumas.
I think he is under a lot of pressure. I think he has lost the changeroom. And dare I say our worldly rugby ambassador and Springbok captain has been a conundrum for him. Underperformed and first on the team sheet. It must be very difficult to balance that.Chilli wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 2:45 pmYeah..............but they seen to be happy with their current coach.FalseBayFC wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 1:43 pmLike if he went to the Sharks?Chilli wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 1:23 pm Well done Pumas.

Obviously Jake overplay his 1st team and underplay his 2nd team.Jimmy Stonehouse took umbrage with Vodacom Bulls coach Gert Smal’s suggestion that the Currie Cup has been devalued as the Pumas prepare to face Griquas in the final in Kimberley on Saturday.
Smal complained that the Bulls’ back-to-back title defence was heavily affected this season by constant squad disruptions due to players “coming in and out” while competing in the Currie Cup and Vodacom United Rugby Championship.
Griquas stunned the defending champions with a huge second-half performance to claim a famous 30-19 semi-final victory in Pretoria and reach the decider in the competition for the first time in 52 years.
But, the men from Kimberley faced a youthful Bulls side missing a host of stars, who contested the URC final against the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.
MORE: “Put the Currie Cup in a museum”
Smal said post-match that the Currie Cup is being devalued and even suggested that SA Rugby should consider shelving the tournament if it continues to play second fiddle to the URC.
However, speaking after the Pumas stunned the table-topping Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein to progress to the first final in their history, coach Stonehouse said Smal’s criticism of the tournament is unjustified.
“There is a very sad thing that I read in the media where Gert Smal said the Currie Cup belongs in a museum,” Stonehouse said. “If the Bulls would have won on Friday, it would have been they are a great union and have a great squad and are in two finals.
“Furthermore, when they played the previous games with loads of URC guys nobody complained.”
Stonehouse pointed out that while the Bulls fielded a young team, it was likely to have a higher overall wage bill than the match-day 23 fielded by Griquas.
Added to that, the likes of centre Sango Xamlashe, halfbacks Zander du Plessis and Johan Mulder, flank Hanru Sirgel and loosehead prop Kudzwai Dube were recent products from Tuks in the Varsity Cup.
“I do understand the teams like Lions [Sharks, Bulls and Western Province] have to play two tournaments,” Stonehouse said.
“But even the Bulls team that played against the Griquas on Friday cost more than the Griquas.
“I think what the Griquas brought this season was just amazing to see – especially with a bunch of new Varsity Cup players.”
