Yeah, even in real time it looked like he kept it in. And there was one phase where they missed at least 2 knock-ons... allegedly.

Commentary induced bias came into play for me a bit... I think the first knock on was probably ok but I've seen them ruled forward. The second I'm 'not sure' about and the kick looked fine for me. I think the officials bottled it a little, some of the calls, or non calls, felt wrong.

Kinda academic really... the Blues opening 20 minutes pretty much sealed it. Once they had that margin, in that weather, it was a matter of controlling the game and they did that well.

The Blues' consistency has been impressive this year, I've never really rated Plummer as a first choice 10, yet he's been good there. They seem to have managed the backline really well with players like Lam coming into the midfield and delivering. Even Akira managed to look like a hardworking 6 while Sotutu seemed to want to do everything. No surprises at this end of a season but it was a really good team effort and they haven't been known for that sort of consistency.

The Brumbies showed their class after that opening blitz and stayed in the hunt but Larkham's body language in the 1/2 time interview suggested he held no hope of pulling a win out of the bag.

Yep, I was very impressed with their overall effort. Cotter's brought a well-documented hard edge to their play this year. Loved his reaction to Funaki's stupid little overhead kick right in front of the Brumbies goalposts.

Akira's been very effectively getting the dirty work done all season. If he wasn't buggering off I think he'd make the ABs on form, certainly ahead of Grace and probably even Jacobson imho.

Stevenson out with a hamstring issue. Nanai-Seturo moves to fullback and Rona comes onto the left wing.

Because Perenara had lowered his body height in the action of kicking the ball?

‘Changing dynamics’ was the call.

Clear head on head. Bad luck but should be red

Made worse for me since Perenara was blindsided.

It seems we still have a NH v SH divide when it comes to officiating head contact?

Rugby is more dynamic in the SH.

He was blindsided because he turned his back on the whole defence.

Feet slipped as he kicked. Harsh penalty, let alone card

Chiefs leading 17-7 after an ebtertaining first half. Hope Taukei'aho's OK - Slater's throwing is a worry.

Canes are rattled, they lost their composure early and they’re trying too hard, forcing it and making mistakes. They’re falling off tackles and making the Chiefs look better than they are.

It was clear head on head contact.

There’s no excuse for that. Lucky to only get a YC for it.

That is a harsh YC, because of significant force in a tackle??? Slightly late but arms were clearly wrapping.

It was not a high tackle. It was late, poor timing. But they claimed there was significant force, leading to a YC

Well above the waistline. As soon as you go there these days, you are risking trouble. Time for Union to get over this rugby league sh*t of the "offensive" tackle.

Stop jumping around. You first claimed it was late and no arms but now are banging on the height of the tackle. He shoulder hit Barrett's upper arm, nowhere near high, and neither the referee nor the TMO mentioned height.

Not saying it was a penalty. Just that it's symptomatic of so many dumb players not grasping what WR wants from the game. Nothing to gain there from lazy/bad tackling technique. Was always going to end up being smashed and risking head contact too.
