It's Connacht; Connaught is a nice hotel in London

I think the scrum blindness, is leveled out by him letting Sharks away with a lot of time wasting.
Three tries on the board, & Sharks yet to score; I'll take that.
Apologies.fishfoodie wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:04 pmIt's Connacht; Connaught is a nice hotel in London![]()

The ref should have sorted it ages ago. We are not enjoying it either. We want him off. Connacht must be thrilled he is there

No worries
Sharks must have got the hairdryer at half time, as they're looking a lot livelier.
Wright is still a liability though. His passes are are always "too" ... low, high, slow, far ahead, etc, etc

and again, Sharks play with some pace, & rumble up to Connachts 22; which makes the deliberate slowness, of the rest of the game so baffling

Feck sake; all momentum with Sharks now 24 - 14
[Edit] Try scratched off because try scorer was offside at blockdown

Have they changed the law that they can't review after kick has been completed and awarded?

Yeah, I think everyone saw OHs rushing to take the conversion quick, to game the system, & they decided to drop that clause.TheNatalShark wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:51 pm Have they changed the law that they can't review after kick has been completed and awarded?

Sharks coaches must have to use a logarithmic scale when they rate Wright against Williams
Williams is a million times better at using the players around him, & adjusted to the conditions the minute he got on the pitch

24 - 12 FT
Hopefully the Sharks guys have a number of large whiskeys in the dressing room to defrost the players .

A lot of favors being done this weekend; with Connacht beating Sharks, now Scarlets have beaten Cardiff.
There are a lot of teams capable of securing positions 4-8

Benetton aren't to be underestimated this season; & Ulster won't be their only scalp I think.Sandstorm wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:16 pmBad weather is a great levellerOomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:15 pmUlster losing and Leinster struggling against Ospreys weekend of surprises.fishfoodie wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 7:23 pm A lot of favors being done this weekend; with Connacht beating Sharks, now Scarlets have beaten Cardiff.

Leinster don't look themselves so far, but are still 10 - 10 at HT, despite being down 10 - 0 at one point; but they've a very experimental SH/OH combination in Foley, & Harry Byrne

All the Irish teams scrumming struggled. Even the Lions gave Munster a scrum lesson.

We just don't have enough big guys going into the game; it's been a problem for as long as I've been watching Irish teams.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:26 pm All the Irish teams scrumming struggled. Even the Lions gave Munster a scrum lesson.

And just like that, Leinster run in two lovely backs tries, & now it's 16 - 24, & you'd fancy them to get the TBP in the last 10 minutes

Good game from Ospreys.
Funny you should say that, I was wondering whether Healy has shrunk.fishfoodie wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:29 pmWe just don't have enough big guys going into the gameOomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:26 pm All the Irish teams scrumming struggled. Even the Lions gave Munster a scrum lesson.

They were in it all the way, & just that failure to draw in the defender in their last attack, meant they never got the space to draw level.

That went about as well as expected for the $harks B team. Congrats Connacht on being the better team by far.
Mchunu probably the pick of our players, our scrum looked very dominant. But our lineout was utter shit. We looked like we hadn't played together before, which was obviously the case. Our backline players had no idea what each were doing.
That combo of Wright/Fleurs was a disaster, it's a pity we didn't start with Williams/Cronje.
Despite the loss, I think there are some scraps of hope in that team. Given the travelling issue, SA teams will need a strong B team for matches like this. A couple of player changes and some more game time, I think this team could click and throw up a couple of surprises.

It's odd to play him on the tighthead if he's trying keep his weight down and become more mobile
