I tried WP once. For a short while. It was a very traumatic experience. Now that WP is a family trust I will not bother. My kids will but I am a Sharks supporter for longer than some of you have lived

I will have to see the team sheet for WP . That's a big result for Griquas putting WP out their misery.

Oh my word....thats basically the Stormers side that go beaten.

Definitely missing Sascha..

Great to see Kade lifting his game for the Lions.

It's actually sad. You could see it in Moerat made a Springbok captain. And that new kid playing flyhalf for WP that kicks massively and is obviously the future and he has to step in to save WP with kicks because Manie, who has massive local support, always is the one.
Something has changed at WP / Stormers.

I mean...if the Stormers URC team cannot beat Griquas...Something is terribly wrong and everyone just shuts up and accepts it. I have seen this movie before.
I remember many times when WP/ Stormers went through slumps. Then with complete mismanagement they blew the Hollywood Bets deal and just by monitoring the deals brokered by Franchises in the build up to the URC, WP aren't spending. And Dobson has looked out of his depth...or maybe too stretched ...in the coaches box for the Currie Cup.

Just remember.

What has been the difference between the Springboks and the rest of the world.
It's insane depth.
What makes the URC and champions cup winners. Teams with depth.
What did Jake White say to warn South Africans about competing north. You need depth. And WP/ Stormers don't have that. And I don't think they will wing it this year.

He is very, very good. I'm a bit late to the Hanekom fanboi party, but he's definitely got something. I'd have no problem seeing him play against Argentina, I think his aggressive style could work well.

On the other hand darren, what about Jaco van der Walt. It's been a long time since I've seen such a bad performance from a flyhalf. He was awful in the second half. Where is Goosen?

Unfortunately Hanekom had quite a long layoff so he most likely need a few more games before he would be ready for test rugby, so I do not expect him in the squad before the autumn internationals. Though if he puts in a very strong performance tomorrow, he might have a chance to get into the squad for the home game against Argentina, but very much doubt it.
I think Goosen is in cotton wool, if I remember correctly he did not play much Currie Cup last season as well. With his injury record, the last thing they want is for him to get injured during the Currie Cup. So I do not expect him to make a showing until the URC starts. The Bulls need to find another flyhalf though, it is my biggest worry for the URC season. The backup to Goosen has been pretty average, the games without Goosen last season showed how badly the drop off is between him and the rest, even on his bad days.
As a side issue, I am still very worried about the Bulls defense, even during this Currie Cup it was very clear that the defense sucks, I do not know why we are sticking with Gold as a defense coach. The Bulls defense will cost them again this season if the Currie Cup is any indication.
