Tight bowling all morning, with seven maidens in 14 overs. Bangles now 41/3 with three wickets falling in the last four overs. All to the spinners

Rahim out handled the ball - haven't seen that for a decade

104/5 - they had built up a good partnership too

What an idiotic dismissal! Why the fuck did he think that was a good idea? Bonkers.

The ball was bouncing away from the stumps.

Some very good batsmen have done the same.

Len Hutton,
Mohsin Khan
Desmond Haynes
Graham Gooch
Steve Waugh

I was going to say that Bazza got out like that as well, but his was an ODI or T20

Dang, that's a select group. I had no idea so many great players suffered the same brain freeze moment.

According to ESPN, handled the ball is no longer the official mode of dismissal but it is included in "obstructing the field".

He is good to listen to, as Bangles lose their 7th wicket at 135

There's very little fluff or bluster about him, and there's always a good observation behind his comments. I find him straightforward and entertaining.

After Phillip's first delivery in the last over, he said "I reckon he will get a wicket in this over".

Wicket falls on the next ball.

Clearly out. All gone for 172. Excellent sustained pressure by BC bowlers., Santner in particular.

Southee bowled 5.2 overs for 0 runs (ZERO) and one wicket.

Nicholls must be close to his last chance, with Ravindra waiting in the wings.

Day One done. 79 overs bowled. 15 wickets taken. Highest score of just 35 so far.

This could be all over inside 3 days.

I think we could save a lot of time in Bangladesh home series by doing the toss and whoever calls it correctly gets the win.

How do Bangladesh get away with pitches like this?

No play so far on day two due to rain, and it's not looking good for the rest of the day.

Just stumbled across this video of a man who knows what he's talking about.

Another delayed start on Day 3, but hopefully there might be some play...
Day 3, 9am Perhaps the only reason this game is into the third day is bad weather, more of which is likely in store this morning too. The covers are on already as we see live pictures from the ground, because it is raining...

...9.15am But, but... we have some news already: the covers from the main pitch have been taken off.

How can you be allowed to appeal for both caught and lbw, when they contradict each other? Is there a blanket appeal these days?

How many spinners do we have in our starting XI? But our batters are clueless against...spin. What are they playing in the nets, ping pong?
