LOL "bad light"

This is comical. How were these frauds ever assigned test status?

It's always been a blanket appeal. You ask the umpire if that was out - you don't have to specify why you think it's out, and the umpire doesn't have to specify why they give the answer they do.

If someone was plum lbw unless they hit it, in which case they were caught, why on earth would they get a life because the fielding side didn't know which it was?!

Fair point, hadn't really thought about it like that tbh.

NZ picks up the third wicket of Day 4, and Bangladesh is 89/5.

Zakir gets a gutsy 50 on a minefield pitch. Bangladesh 114/8 with a next-best score of 15.

Nice stumping by Blundell to end the innings at 144, so the target for NZ is 137.

This will be a challenging total if we dither against their spinners. We need to go ballistic from the start.

NZ 4/0 at Lunch, needing another 133 to win.

Nicholls with an absurd review. Dead plum and miles from the bat.

Shirley that was Nicholls' last dance. He's played well at times, but those times haven't been in match winning situations.

Next!

I was keen on mostly reversing the batting order and attacking from the off.

This pitch is a nightmare -- not sure how Latham survived that over from Mehidy

Back from my rugby team dinner and a most satisfying result. Phillips played superbly in both innings.

Hope this isan't as bad as it looks for Smith. I remember a few years ago Ross Taylor took a similar blow to the forearm, which resulted in a break.

Meanwhile, on t'other side of the globe, day three of the first Straya v Pakistan test In Perth saw the visitors' quicks deal out a few lumps and bruises to the Strayans. Tough and absorbing cricket.

Amazing batting from Salt and Brook to get England across th elin ewith 1 ball to spare chasing 223. Brook went 4-6-6-2-6 off the last over - and scored 31 off 7 balls. Salt unbeaten on 109. Buttler also added a half century.

Bowlers went around the park again. About time they brought turner in for his debut - not much point in taking him out there and not giving hiim any gametime. He can't do any worse than the other quicks.

BCs have a horror start, losing two wickets in the first over to be 5/2,, and are now 159/2 with Young and Latham both well past their 50s.

Bangers need 245 to win off 30 overs.

It would have been a bit more but we gifted 3 runouts in the last over which affects the DLS revision of the target.

Stunning last 2 overs from England. Brook killed it!

Looks like Nicholls has saved his ODI career yet again.

He cops a lot of stick, and I'm not a huge fan, but even when he makes bugger all at a snail's pace he's often the other part of an important parnership.

You never had to give a reason why you thought it was out before the replays were available. It was always a blanket appeal, and I remember an umpire saying to me 'if you hit it you were caught behind, if you didn't you were fucking plumb. Either way you're out laddie'
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
