Good thing Afrikaners are bloody good rugby players, because I can comfortably say Afrikaans music is the worst on the fucking planet. So bereft of any ideas, so dire in its execution, so common it makes my ears bleed
A lot of the 'my truck, my gun, my girl' type stuff that is clearly stolen from US country music is shit, to be fair. But it's not universally shit.

On Kurt Darren : his songs are mostly kak, but people in SA love it, so he won't change a thing. He is laughing all the way to the bank.
Globus mode activated - Met him once, asked him about Kaptein. He said he wanted to gag every time people demanded the song, but he has to sing it.
Agreed. Personally I think Kaptein is a kak song. He does have some lekker dance songs though.
I'm not a fan, but each to his own. From the top of my head, I like Karen Zoid, Adam Tas, Heuwels Fantasties.

Bungle I like all the music you posted, it's great man, but it's not in Afrikaans. Do you perhaps have something a bit more not English, perhaps something that's in Maori.
That's nice for what it is. I mean she might aswell be singing I'll stomp your foot, I'll twist your arm, I'll cut your throat, I'll make you puke cause obviously I can't make out
what she's singing. Anyways it's a nice tune, very generic but nice. As a matter of fact if you cut out the vocals you can splice quite a number of Afrikaans songs vocals over it and it will sound the same.

Lots of melodies stolen from Holland and Germany in the past. Things have changed to a large degree though. Lots of original stuff being done, which is good.

World class Afrikaans singers doing some ABBA/Queen shit.

Afrikaans rules SA music industry

More Afrikaans songs written in one year than the English SA singers have written in 50 years. Poepies, this is from a variety concert called Krone. The nature of the show is singing medleys in English and Afrikaans but ALL the singers are Afrikaans singers. There are as many Afrikaans as English medleys. I mostly post the English stuff as the songs will be familiar to a wider audience AND you get to see the quality of the Afrikaans singers live.

Liezel Pieters > Celine Dion. Pretty good live performance.
That was probably the worst youtube video I have had the misfortune of hearing
It is pretty awful.
This girl is very good, will probably win a show like Britains Got Talent. I can tell you that I have seen a couple of concerts of Celine Dion and you will be shocked how generally kak she sounds live.

Wie is jou Soutie?
