A Post will just tell us what we already know. It's an inquest that will force individuals to state under oath the circumstances that led to the death.
Yeah but it is not sequential? PM leads to unexplained leads to inquest? Not certain, fortunately never had to get to grips with anything like that
The PM would suggest the cause of death was asphyxiation by ligature or similar depending on the exact circumstance. It's the circumstances that are unexplained not the cause.
In Scotland the police would investigate the circumstances and background and report to COPFS. Not entirely sure how the inquest system works in England.
That's kin of what I thought. PM takes place and that then leads to referall to police to investigate?
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

As far as I'm aware, coroners in England have the power to start criminal proceedings if they think a death is suspicious.

The queen's photo is brilliant  I am glad I don't live in the UK. I am just about holding it together with our populist cunts but that shit would drive me over the edge
I don't care when the photo was taken and what excuses are made about this photo opportunity the poor wee boy was dead before he arrived at hospital. Everyone knew he was dead and the doctors had already told the family there was no chance of life. For an MP to then even consider being in this photo regardless of what the mother wanted is just sick and depraved. To then sit there smiling with flags and photos etc is just excruciatingly awful. Feck knows what other patients and their families in the ICU were feeling about this. I've been there, I've had young relatives in exactly that situation in a neuro ICU and I can tell you absolutely feckin nothing, nada, zilch would have justified this sort of behaviour. I can't remember one smile on one face in ICU. This photo os just plain sick!

The idea of then moving his body elsewhere is also just plain wrong and folk who think it was even possible let alone justified haven't a clue about what it involved and are talking shite. The poor wee boy was dead and moving him out of ICU and into an ambulance would have been hugely difficult with a very high possibility he would have stopped breathing en route in the back of the ambulance, hardly dignified. His body at this point was already decaying and it was getting increasingly difficult for doctors to sustain his condition. The role of the court is to act in the best interests of the boy and to protect his best interests not side with parents nor doctors/hospital. In this case I suspect the court saw its role as clearly protecting him from his mother and quite rightly refused permission to move him!

The best result of this sad and sorry incident would have been for his mother to have listened and understood what the doctors told her immediately after he arrived in hospital and after a short period to say goodbye to have agreed to donate his organs to others to help them live or have a normal life. This would have required honesty, bravery, unselfishness and desire to do good for others. It might have made his death slightly more bearable. Unfortunately she displayed none of these virtues.

This whole sorry affair is exactly why, as an adult in England and Wales, you should have a Lasting Power of Attorney for Health and Welfare as it explicitly allows you to give your attorney(s) the right to make decisions about life sustaining treatment on your behalf, whether to receive or refuse it.

It also covers "normal" medical treatment and decisions on social care, so the Local Authority don't have the power to say which nursing home you go in irrespective of what the family might want.

Do it through a solicitor or do it yourself, just get it in place whilst you're still capable of doing so. Same goes for the LPA for Property and Finances.

He is brain dead in this pic ffs. This is beyond ghoulish.
What a Danse Macabre. They look gleeful and the pic is much too posed for any sincerity.

The phone evidence seems to add to the suspicion that he committed suicide. Poor wee lad, by all accounts his life was an utter misery.

The UK really is in a strange place. Here is a lad who tried to kill himself 3 days before and the coroner says he is a complex lad with low mood who then played a fatal prank on himself
Our coroners are weird bastards as well tbf. Witness the lad in cork who told the guy who'd (accidentally, tbf) pushed his buddy to his death in a blow hole that 'he'd done nothing wrong' and stated that the council should fill in the blowhole.

Probably just more paperwork if he says suicide. The verdict isn't going to bring him back is it.

This - I suspect everyone concerned is desperate to see the back of his shitty mum and all the dodgy right wing fundamentalist money, if they had decided suicide then there would have been court cases for years!
