I've noticed that Italy prefer to pass it deep to the flyhalf for a kick rather than let Varney box it. That's a bit limiting for them.

What a shitty and stupid thing to say directly to or in front of the ref.

Rassie's tactics obviously working. Player for any other team would be in the bin for that.

Which is strange because his kicking was very good against Samoa

Totally agree. There is something massively wrong in the mind of that team. Are they paranoid?? They should shut the fuck up.

Culture's set from the top. Players obviously feel emboldened to call refs cheats on the pitch. Clearly not every player that would have done that to be fair, but it's a horrible look imo

Nothing to do with the fans (well apart from the Twitter ultras). Just feels like the setup is going out of its way to build up this victim complex. They're reigning world champions, they more than anyone just don't need to go down that path.

The way it works with these supporters is that when they lose, it is all the referees fault, when they win they are the greatest team on Earth. Unfortunately, South Africa seems to have more of these types than anyone else.

They're just playing to their audience. Dunno where you're based, but it's hard to overstate the extent to which Rassie's behaviour has turned fans here (UK) against SA. They've never been one of the more popular sides here, but I've never known dislike of them be anything like as prevalent or strong here as it is atm.
