Not enjoying the Kiwi sides getting beaten, but it's also not too disappointing to see some staunch wins by the Aussie sides at this early stage of the comp.

Just saw on Crusaders FB page that S Barrett is out for six weeks with a broken finger. Damn, the season just got a lot harder.

A 0-4 start to the season is on the cards... on top of a horrendous injury list, apparently Covid is going through the team at the moment. Looks like a sort of cobbled up selection process for a few weeks yet.
I'm not fazed... a lot of people are likely to superficially label the loss of Razor as the reason or perhaps, some sort of blame for Penney but in the scheme of things a fall away from top form is no biggie. NZ fans are sick of being completely Enzo'd by the Saders for years now. A change is refreshing and the Saders need to bed in some change and get themselves humming again in their own time.

I am not overly concerned, as this year was always going to be a year of rebuilding. I actually like the structure of the squad with plenty of experience and heaps of youngsters with high potential in there. They are lucky in one aspect, that people will not expect them to be pushing for AB honours so early on, so they can work themselves into their careers.

Feeling sorry for the franchise, how many on the injury list now? Pretty hard to kick start a season when the injuries to key players keep on coming week in and week out.

Should follow the Canes mate 3-0 for the season :)
Nice to see the Aussie franchises coming to play; excluding the Farce and the Rebels who are as shite as usual. When are Rugby Australia going to wake up to the fact that Melbourne has been a disaster along the lines of Super League.

Match of the round tonight between the unbeaten Canes and the winless Saders.
Wouldn't surprise me if the defending champs get up for this one. What does surprise is Havili being named interim captain. On his current form, he's lucky to be even starting, imho.

Canes dominating possession and territory but lead by only 7 - 0 after 33 mins. Crusaders hanging in and playing better than recently.
Havili and Aumua in midfield playing well

The forwards are having their best game of the season by far and the lads will be happier with the 0 - 7 halftime score than the Canes are.

I am loving the battle of the backrows, both sets playing well but the advantage to the Canes

I'd love to see a change in the penalty advantage to say 4~5 phases or 30m> of territory gained.

Canes score a try at the death and win 14 - 10. 4th consecutive loss but a much better performance.by our lads.

Gilbert challenging for worst clearance from his own goalline of the season.
And the Bumboys score what is probably the match-winning try

Brumbies owned the second half and deserved to win. There was some poor kicking by the Highlanders. Gilbert's early wayward goalkicking of course, but also Fakatava put up a couple of attacking box kicks that were easily marked in the oppo backfield.

Poorly-directed box kicks are as much a bane on the game this year as they were last year. The Crusaders were also guilty of that last night.

Why is neither side wearing its home jersey? Please tell me that pink abomination is not the Tahs home jersey this season.
EDIT: Jake Gordon shares that the Waratahs will be wearing pink jerseys at the Rugby for Good Charity Round to raise awareness for the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation, and that the jerseys will be auctioned off after the game
