I love reading Barney Ronay, but this genuinely nearly brought me to tears about the slow death of Test cricket extrapolated from the Pakistan game

I think I read that there isn't a three test series scheduled anywhere in the schedule from 23-27 that doesn't involve England, Australia or India.

WI beat England in the Women's T20 WC to knock them out of the tournament.
SA go through second in the group on net RR.

Ollie Pope really does have a few questions needing answered before the summer. Averaging 35 for the year, helped by two massive tons and when removed he averages 21.2 as a number 3 which includes a 121 score.
13 scores under 20 this year and away from home he doesn't convert scores of 20 to 50 very often at all. Once in the last seven.
He is the weak link at the moment.

Have to agree re Pope, I think he's on borrowed time. Who would you put in instead of him?

Eng losing 3 wickets in 8 balls late in the day to give the bookies something to bet on.

Stokes smashed his bat on the stairs after getting out for just 1 today. Not a good look for the skipper.

They're at lunch right now but

Very un-Indian-like conditions, with the ball, particularly from Henry, seaming all over the place. As so often happens in such conditions, several of the wickets haven't come from the best deliveries, just those the batters were actually able to get the bat to. Exemplifying this, O'Rourke has the most wickets from a very untidy performance — 2nd slip has been in constant danger as he's interspersed many wides or near-wides with a few real jaffas.

5 - 15, and India’s lowest innings total at home

Yes, I remembered that post - but I am sure every cricket aficionado thought like I did.
Can't see us getting on top of the Windies batting but a semi is waaaaay more than we expected anyway.

Noman Ali 16.3 overs 1 maiden 46 runs 8 wickets.
Very impressive from a 38 year old

Southee gone for an important 65.
So his 77* in his maiden test remains his highest score.

Just finished watching the World T20 semi - and the girls have gone and done it.
We need catching practice big time though - the Saffer batters don't give a lot of chances so we need to snatch (fnar) every one.

How the fuck do you cock up a 354 run 1st innings lead!
Re: The Official Cricket Thread

(No-one has ever done it before - previous highest 1st innings lead to result in defeat was
Sri Lanka vs Australia, 1st Test at Colombo, Aug 17 1992 when Sri Lanka lost after posting a 291 run 1st innings lead.)

You reduce the opposition to an effective score of 88/7 in their second innings
