Quickies skittle Indian lower order leaving BCs needing 107 to win. Great recovery after the superb batting of Sarfaraz, Kohli, Rahul, and Pant. India collapse from 4 - 433 to all out for 462.

That collapse was exactly timed with my bed time.
Not liking the weather forecast for today in Bengaluru

Indian fans are gloating about it being a draw due to the forecast of heavy showers ... and they probably wonder why they are the most hated supporters in World Cricket

Maybe its just the online mob and the rest are decent people, who knows, I blame Trump.
Excellent game thus far, fightback by Indian was epic till the new ball had the kiwi quicks massacring the middle and bottom order. Have a feeling all the Indian batters avoided getting a double duck, might need to check that.
Very disappointed no test matches England v Australia latest tour

Blaming Modi seems more plausible.

Beating India's always fun. Spanking them in India, and doing it without our best player... that'll do nicely.

Thank fuck for that. Not sure I could have coped with the club WhatsApp group if NZ hadn't held their nerve. When India were effectively 52/3 I was fearful.

An all-round excellent performance by the BCs, holding their nerve even when the Indian batsmen were seriously threatening to pile on a troublesome total for us to chase, then going for the throat once Southee got the breakthrough. Similar steel nerves by Young and Ravindra on the chase.
Great to shut the Indian crowds up with a commanding win.

Great weekend for NZ cricket topped off with a win in the T20 world cup final.
That puts the steam on the coffee.

If only Waikato had held on against the Wellington Lions in the NPC semi - it would have been the perfect weekend.
Well done the White Ferns - from a laughing stock to a Blue Chip in one tournament.
Liam Lawson to come.

Well done keewees, excellent batting performance.
Good start from SA in the chase, but 2 tight overs after the powerplay bought the crucial wicket that effectively ended SA chances

Fantastic performance from the Black Craps, with standout efforts from Henry, O'Rourke and Ravindra. The conditions helped, but so did getting the team selection more or less right. It'll be even tougher from here on in though — it's dollars to donuts the next test track will turn square from day 1. One hopes this doesn't bring about a temptation to reintroduce Santner.
As for the NZ women, well, good on them. When you get a great gobful of good luck dumped on you, it's important to take full advantage. Which they did, to their great credit. But it does show the lottery of T20 cricket when quite possibly the worst team to ever win a world championship comes out on top (I'd be more than happy to be proved wrong on this if they come out and beat, or even just be consistently competitive with, Australia this summer...but I ain't holding my breath).

SL battle well to 283/7 at stumps.
lead of 81, if they can get another 40 it could be enough for SA batsmen to panic and fold.

2nd test vs India about to start and Santner in for injured Henry. FFS. We have a genuine spinner in the squad in Sodhi but Santner is picked.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/360461862 ... double-ton
Perhaps it was a case of Chad Bowes taking the frustration of missing out on the Black Caps’ latest white-ball team out on Otago.
The Canterbury opener blasted the fastest List A (limited overs cricket) double ton in history in Christchurch on Thursday, notching the world record in just 104 balls at a sun-drenched Hagley Oval.
That bettered the 114 balls Australian Travis Head (South Australia) and Indian Narayan Jagadeesan (Tamil Nadu) scored their double centuries in.
Bowes, who has played six ODIs and 11 Twenty20s for the Black Caps, also became just the second player in history to score a Ford Trophy double century.
Former Black Cap Jamie How (222 during the 2012/13 summer) is the only other player to do so.
South African-born Bowes appeared to be playing on a different surface to his Canterbury teammates, which included Mitch Hay and Zak Foulkes, who hours earlier were confirmed in New Zealand’s white-ball squad for next month’s T20 and ODI series in Sri Lanka.
Bowes pasted Otago’s bowlers to all parts of the vast Hagley Oval, clobbering seven sixes and a staggering 27 fours before he was dismissed for 205 off 110 balls.
He accounted for the overwhelming majority of Canterbury’s 343-9 after they were sent in by the visitors, with six players failing to reach double-figures and Foulkes (49 not out) the next highest scorer.

For some reason they love Santner, reckon the Bogan Prince himself, Shane Warne, couldn't have dislodged him from the team.
England also in action against Pakistan, and drinks o'clock with the missus who has decided I should join her new business venture.

TBH, they're much of a muchness as bowlers, and Santner bats better. That said, NZ already has two left armers in Patel and Ravindra, so Sodhi would have provided a useful point of difference.

Henry has a 'glute niggle'. Uh huh. More likely is that they remember the massive sad packed by Southee the last time he was left out of a test team and are scared of it happening again.
