Just don't understand what Plumtree hopes to gain by using Kok as a blindside basher. With Wright never going into rucks, you're banking on the flank doing superhuman work to beat the 15/oppo 9 to the ball

Kok not giving the ball for an 8 to outpace a prop form halfway

Dyanti being given the flat ball by Wright to run directly into two tight fives with no support :lolno: :lolno: :lolno: :lolno:

Outstanding tactics from Plum.
Sharks are too easy to defend against when they have the ball. One out pass, one behind the back, one more and bosh!! Rinse repeat.

Tbf they can barely co-ordinate their own throws, probably safe to protect against the maul at this stage.

I'm away to put a bet on another 0-36 sort of game like last season Edit: Apparently can't as I'm out the country

5 - 10 HT a fair enough reflection of the game, with Connacht putting in a big defensive shift, & Sharks handling going to shit in the red zone.

Sharks have some good pace on attack, Wright getting the ball out fast he, make him the captain. When they get into good field positions they need to uses the forwards more to set a more solid platform to attack from, they're not sucking in defenders and you need to use the forwards to do that. The kicks have been good, but there's no pressure on them because they're so deep.

Munster put the Westville Lion on a big yellow armchair with "Mr.Binman" written on it. Our season went downhill from there.

Irish fear the Lion, they need the ref to stop him.

Putting serious hat on, will they really try though? I can't say I've seen any meaningful change in a team's style since... COVID?

He's had a brain melt down! He's just going on crazy runs into the defence trying to win the match on his own like a high school star player, then losing the ball. Twice in a row!

Cheers Gents !

Obviously really happy with that; we had the kind of sustained defensive effort we've really struggled to deliver on the road.

Really impressed with Reilly starting at SH on the road, & into Marimions shoes, & tough ask, but he really showed well compared with Wright on the other side of the park.

Everitt is average, Plumber is much better than him. But this is a disaster. Jake White all those years back was the coach we were stupid to get rid of.

Waylon Murray the Bok from Westville is getting into coaching, boost him from schools to the Sharks. More Westville, more Queensburgh, more Berea, more Glenwood, more Bluff. Only hard men from Durban South.

Yeah, that’s what the non-tackling Sharks need. A former player who couldn’t tackle.

Sorry it didn't parse - I think Everitt was rubbish.

Really wasn't convinced by Plums return, Powell really needs to look at his decision making re coaches or be sacked himself. The whole wasting a season, only to get Plum well after the season finished was poor.

Everyone decent is taken, I wouldn't bother with a foreign coach they're not going to stay in Durban long enough to build anything. Plumber is an exception to that, he may as well be South African.

If it wasn't going to be Plumber it would've been picking someone out of the schools/varsity system, which would be a gamble. Or going with someone old that never quite made it like Swys or Stonehouse. It's not a good sign that Powell doesn't have enough contacts to have a preferred first/second/third/fourth/etc choice that none of us have even heard of but he knows are good. Plumber doesn't seem like someone that would be in his network, looks like someone above Powell just went with Plumber to have any coach. Don't know why Powell isn't the coach, a director of rugby seems unnecessary at a provincial union it looks like the same job as CEO. It's not a popular opinion but Straeuli was a really good CEO for the Sharks and the Lions have only got good again since he has been their CEO.

I think Plumber underestimated the URC and has prepped the team for a tournament they're not playing in.
