If North Harbour win (assuming we don’t turn this around), playing in the Championship next year is still a possibility.

Tbf I wouldn't worry too much about that, the two divisions are virtually inseparable now. The reality is that Canterbury's squad is not one of the stronger squads in the Mitre 10 Cup. We are relatively weak and inexperienced. Look at this match, BOP is being led around the park by experienced SR level first five Otere Black whilst we've got a rookie in Fergus Burke.
