Important win for the Stormers. The defense was the difference. The player depth at the Stormers is unbelievable. Hartzenberg is an unbelievable young talent.

Willemse totally outplayed Willie. Willie kakking on his team mates in the end.
Sard’s wife has wrapped some up for him this Christmas.

Two good games yesterday and today.
Glasgow showing ridiculous skills in typical Glasgow weather to take the win in the second half. Loved the 50/22 from young Ben Afshar - he needs things like this to settle into his career. He's a prospect.
Enjoyed Stormers Bulls as well. A total pinball mess at times interspersed with typical quality Saffer play.
I enjoy having them on board the URC

Stormers vs Sharks next weekend. Looking forward to this.
I must be the only person in Cape Town not to get all this Hartzenberg hype. Been watching this kid like a hawk since he’s been on the scene and I am just not seeing it…OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 7:17 pm Important win for the Stormers. He’s not especially rapid, he doesn’t have a step and he’s not a particularly good finisher either. Why do people keep hyping this kid up? I don’t get it.
+1. I also think he’s lazy, stays out on the wing and doesn’t look for work.Blake wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 9:24 pmI must be the only person in Cape Town not to get all this Hartzenberg hype. Measuring against Moodie he sure pass the test with flying colors as the previous time in 13 against Leicester.
Last night the test between Willemse vs Willie and Ibbok vs Goose was a no contest. Goosen was utterly kak.
The Stormers youngsters were classy, I really thought the Bulls would beat them last night.

Blommetjies will join that injury list of Stormers. Luckily Dan du Plessis and Angelo Divads will be back. Not sure about Gelant.

He did? I must have missed it. He didn’t seem to trouble Moodie at all and Moodie had a couple of memorable contributions.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 3:14 am Measuring [Hartzenberg] against Moodie he sure pass the test with flying colors as the previous time in 13 against Leicester.
The only thing I can recall SH doing was that one chip over the top that he regathered and then lost in contact. Other than that he was average.
Didn’t catch the full Leicester match as I was at the Sevens that day, but I’ll take your word for it. I’m still waiting to a see a performance from the kid to live up to all the hype. Right now I honestly don’t even know why he’s in the squad. If I could trade 3 players to make the Stormers stronger it would be him, Dweba and Skosan.
I have just finished watching the match. A shame the bad guys won but it was fun to watch. Bulls got lucky with their cheap shots. Stomps unlucky with their try scoring chances. Bit worrying for the Bulls, should've steamrollered this one with the side they have.
What is with all the Cape Bulls fans? Seemed to be loads of Cape coloured okes wearing Bulls jerseys in the stands. Really don't get how there's sections of Cape supporters who go out of their way to never support the Stomps. Kiwi sides, now the Bulls. They never support the Sharks though, they cannot bring themselves to support the Sharks. If the Sharks are playing they're Stomps again. That's because the biggest rivalry is really Stomps v Sharks.

Speaking of Roos, reason for leaving the Sharksassfly wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 10:52 am Looks like Willemse and Roos have been hanging out together. Similar attitude problems.
Rugbypass
“They have systems in place but that is the fun thing about being at the Stormers, they give you room to express yourself and it’s within the system which works. I really started enjoying rugby and thinking very differently about it. Before I was thinking very systematically, do this, do that. It’s now more experimental and trying new things. I enjoy that a lot.
“I told my parents the other day it’s crazy how everything just exponentially grew from where I was thinking of stopping. I had called my best friend and said, ‘I don’t think I want to play rugby anymore. If this is it, it’s not that fun’. But a big person I don’t usually talk about is Sean Everitt, who was the head coach.
“Me and him were close. We had coffee like we are now, just talked about everything, how I felt. He heard I wasn’t happy off the field and would rather me be with my family. He was very happy to let me go because he didn’t want to keep me against my will because I wouldn’t be happy. I’m very thankful to him. I also met guys like Jean de Villiers and asked their opinion and they also helped me through. There are a lot of people that helped me get back home and I will be forever thankful.”

Very similar to Glasgow Edinburgh from Friday, the conditions dictated that they were both turgid affairs, although derbies are often like that.
I was saying elsewhere that I don't get this "one for the purists" phrase, if you are a purist Shirley you want to see a game full of pace and skill, not gazillions of restarts and mistakes?
It’s an abused phrase. I’ve always thought it’s more accurately used where there’s a really technical game, lots of competition in the scrum and line out, very good defensive strategy and execution.Tichtheid wrote: Tue Dec 26, 2023 11:36 pmBiffer wrote: Tue Dec 26, 2023 10:56 pm Absolute thriller at Thomond today, what an advert for the game![]()
