Is Kellaway super quick, or has Rieko slowed down?
He wasn't flat out, his later effort showed his real speed.

I'm putting it down to another Rieko Moment where he got ahead of himself and gave into his showboating impulse.

For Ioanes second try that was such a perfectly weighted kick by Lam.

On the bright side, at least Rieko's scoring tries again. Wonder when Caleb's gonna start...

Good to hear Lam is the Blues player of the year. He should be well in the ABs conversation, if form counts for anything.

This is his gap year.

Papali'i giving away a penalty right on the try line for in from the side was pretty dumb, it stood out like dog's balls at the time.

46-6

Convincing win over an average Tahs side.

It'd be farking funny if they went down there and managed a win after doing sweet FA all year.

That post game chat with Rieko was excruciating. He actually came out of it quite well in my view but the girl interviewing him... christ, I bet she ends up wanting the earth to open up and swallow her whole once she watches it back.

I like that MP can overtake the Blues if they win with a bonus point courtesy of a greater number of wins.

Match of the round coming up with the Canes hosting Moana Pasifika at the Cake Tin.

If the Canes can't build a good first half lead, MP will fancy their chances of finishing strongly in the second 40, as they so often do.

Ruben Love, Bailyn Sullivan, Billy Proctor (co-capt), Peter Umaga-Jensen, Fehi Fineanganofo, Brett Cameron, Cam Roigard, Peter Lakai, Du’Plessis Kirifi (co-capt), Devan Flanders, Hugo Plummer, Zach Gallagher, Tyrel Lomax, Jacob Devery, Xavier Numia.
Reserves: Raymond Tuputupu, Pouri Rakete-Stones, Pasilio Tosi, Will Tucker, Brad Shields (co-capt), Ereatara Enari, Jone Rova, Tjay Clarke.

Moana Pasifika:
Tevita Ofa, Kyren Taumoefolau, Lalomilo Lalomilo, Julian Savea, Solomon Alaimalo, Patrick Pellegrini, Jonathan Taumateine; Semisi Tupou Ta'eiloa, Ardie Savea (capt), Miracle Faiilagi, Samuel Slade, Tom Savage, Feleti Sae-Ta'ufo'ou, Millennium Sanerivi, Tito Tuipulotu. Reserves: Samiuela Moli, Abraham Pole, Chris Apoua, Allan Craig, Lotu Inisi, Melani Matavao, Jackson Garden-Bachop, Pepesana Patafilo.

Canes with a solid 28-7 lead at HT.

PUJ's quite a handy deputy for Higgins, eh.

He lacks passing skills but if a team doesn't tackle he can look very good

Its all Canes so far and deserve their lead after gIfting MP the first try

Roigard playing very well.

Canes win 64-12, and Moana Pasifika finish their season with a second straight hiding.

Still, plenty of positives for MP to take from their campaign.

I fondly remember watching his old man running around for the Kiwis, and the gun Raiders team of 1994.

On Overlap they were talking about how it is confirmed that Moana will be competing in 2026, tbh I wasnt aware that it was up for debate but all the same that's good to hear.

Apparently Ardie will be taking a sabbatical in 2026 so the panelists were talking about the prospect of recruiting another high profile All Black in his place. Not sure if that was speculation but definitely want to see Moana continue to be competitive.

Crusaders to play the Reds in ChCh at 7:05PM this Friday. Newell and Jordan back in a very strong team.

Asafo Aumua scratched from the Canes with a hamstring injury and won't travel to Canberra. Jacob Devery to start with Tuputupu staying on the bench.

That's a big loss for the Canes, for what's already a tough assignment.

The Chiefs have been decimated by injuries, much more so than the other finalists...

Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi - Shoulder, TBC
Quinn Tupaea - Head/Eye, Short-term
Manaaki Selby-Rickit - Toe, Short-term
Liam Coombes-Fabling - Hamstring, Short-term
Anton Lienert Brown - Collarbone, Mid-term
Malachi Wrampling - Hamstring, Mid-term
Kaleb Trask - Hamstring, Mid-term
Sione Ahio - Ankle, Long-term
Fiti Sa - Shoulder, Long-term
Rameka Poihipi - Knee, Season

Blues heavily favoured to win given that carnage. Clarke's long overdue an easy hattrick.

JOC does his old team a favour by kicking a penalty kick dead rather than giving the Crusaders a 5m attacking lineout.

12 - 0 at halftime

One positive of the tomarty flavoured Aus based Stan coverage is the muting of the TAB betting segment at half time. Fucking excellent.
