I'm not really a hip hop fan but this is unreal, San Quentin prisoner rapping & playing guitar, unbelievably talented, he deserves a huge audience. The blue rinse brigade give him an ovation which says it all.
Must see: San Quentin prisoner - talented rapper
One of the things I struggle with on prisons, is the loss of talent to society.
If you strip out the violent offenders, it always strikes me that you’ve got a cohort of people who wanted to do something proactive to change their situation, but made shit (immoral) decisions (weren’t afforded the right options)
So, that’s a group of problem solvers, that we could probably use in society, just making the right choices.
And the way we mark offenders in society means they often find offending easier than getting a job. Seems a silly, wasteful system to me.
But then again, some cunts problem solved their way into my house 12 months ago and stole both cars off the drive. So I’m a little less sympathetic at the moment.
