Or is it? I've been dealing with my MP and I received an email from her office that began "Dear GogLais (if I may)". I realise that many women especially understandably don't like being addressed as "My dear" but Dear at the start of a letter is something totally different. I've sent plenty of Dear Suchabody letters to people that I could have cheerfully strangled, mostly construction project managers as it happens.
It's just struck me now that maybe she thought I expected to be addressed as Dear Sir. It's a minefield for those of a certain age.
Political correctness gone mad
Was it your first name? It may well have been that, presuming that she can use your first name rather than refer to you as Mr. Lais.GogLais wrote: Tue Jan 12, 2021 11:43 am Or is it? Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
