Or anyone who knows.

i) How many players can be sent off from one team before the match is abandoned?
ii) What would be the outcome regarding result and BO if this were to happen in the 6 nations?

Thank you for your time

Do the laws state anything about this? Is it down to individual competition rules?

It’s quite rare to have more than one player from the same team sent off in a match

Scarlets had two players sent off, and a third yellow carded against Gwent a few years ago, and so ended the match with 12 players on field. This was towards the end of the match. Connacht also has two players sent off against Munster.

There was apparently a football match in Paraguay which saw 20 players sent off following a mass brawl. In that case the game was abandoned.

Is one opponent red-carded per match considered insufficient now?

To be fair it's still a bit too close for comfort with the way Wales are playing.

IIRC the number is 11, but may be wrong. Match counts as forfeited by the offending team

At the level I ref at, 12 is the minimum number to have on the pitch.

At the level my current team plays I believe 12 is minimum number of players (so 4 red before forfeit).

To be honest at this level in France reds are far too common. I saw more reds in 1/2 of my first season here than in all the years at 'Tarf.

Was there not a match a number of years ago where the ref sent off both packs?
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

That's what I was wondering.

That seems a reasonable number really. Any less and it's not really a competition anymore.

I read an unofficial source adding that 5 members have to be available to scrum down too.

It'd take, probably, only an all-in, no hold barred brawl for something like this to happen though.

Wonder if that would make it a 28-0 bp win for the other team.
