And here we go - the inevitable consequence of a string of poor umpiring decisions is that the Windies blow a review because they simply can't trust the umpires. Anderson gets one round the wicket LBW.

Wood is bowling very quickly. Windies playing it well though

Very rapid - but not bowling good areas yet. None of the bowlers have really found the best line and length yet. They'll have to sort it quickly tomorrow.

ll get yelled at for this but Sky's half hour of giving Michael Holding and Ebony Rainford-Brent space yesterday to talk about racial issues in cricket and elsewhere is well worth watching.
The Holding speech where he had a little intake of breath at the end was really powerful, made even more so by going out of his cricket comfort zone and his normally calm delivery.

Absolutely nothing happening with the ball so far. Looking like a long day in the field for England

Fucksake. Archer has Shai Hope in all kinds of trouble, then gets him plumb LBW. And it's a fucking no-ball. Stupid stupid stupid.

That's what happens when you constantly push the front line - bowlers just never seem to learn.

Am I right in saying Jofra used to be pretty good for this - nowhere near the line?

Aaand it doesn't cost us. Bess gets Hope, who looked awful tbh. Good catch by Stokes.

Stokes gets Braithwaite LBW, but it looks high to me.

Oh, umpires call, and not particularly close. Good shout - well done Stokes.

Why on earth did he review that?

Not v impressed by England's bowling. Anderson was ok at the start of the day and Wood got a little unlucky with edges not flying to hand, but the Windies have given the lesson in how to bowl in English conditions, and we're not following it.

Archer at times just appears to be going through the motions. New ball due in 10 overs time

I can understand that people might think that but I don't think he ever is. It's mainly because his run up and action look pretty innocuous even when he's bowling well - when it's not working for him it looks like he's not putting the effort in even though he looks identical to when he is taking wickets.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

He's been hitting batsmen and was all over Shai Hope, he just messed up with the no-ball. There's been mis-hit shots landing safe, etc.

That's just the way it's going to be for Jofra. Wood's not taken any wickets either and has been a lot leakier.

Sounded like Wood created quite a few chances early in the day and was rather unlucky.

Overall, it does seems wrong not to have picked one of Broad or Woakes. These are much more their conditions.

Umpire gets it wrong again. Can't be easy for them after so long without any cricket

That wasn’t a great decision. Break from recent cricket or otherwise.

We're going to have to bat extremely well in the 2nd dig...............

Windies in general just seem more on it to me. Okay, conditions for batting today have been much easier but with the exception of a couple of soft dismissals they haven’t wasted the start that their bowlers gave them.

Their batting has definitely seemed more permanent. Conditions have been very different, though.

When Stokes breaks down we're really going to be hurting. Bails us out with the bat, our best fielder, and 4-43 so far with a hurty toe.

They're giving Wood every chance to get a tailend wicket, c'mon lad.

And Wood gets one at last. 114 run lead so the top 4 really have a job to do

Not a great return for our Fastest ever ? pair of quicks. Not really their sort of pitch. We'll probably only pick one of them when we play on something with alot more pace in it !

Weather forecast is good for the next couple of days, so I'm hoping to see Englands batsmen dig in and fight. I reckon they need to bat until lunchtime tomorrow.

Denley did the hard graft then threw it away. Again. At least we know now who will make way for Joe Root.

Yep. Denly has so often got himself in without going on to get the kind of score you want from a number 3.

I think Crawley playing well has really sealed his fate. As an opener he’s used to the new ball and he has shown he can score quite freely.

Butler plays all over one and is bowled. 265/6 (151 ahead)

Good stuff from the Windies, they weren't threatening, but they kept it tight and waited for England to make mistakes

This is tight Test cricket. 35 minutes left tonight - 1 more wicket and Windies will feel a chase of less than 200 is on

With the inevitable batting collapse. If we get a lead of 200 then any result is on

Here we go then - game on. A quick 40 from Broad will stop this Windies domination tho.... oh shit.
