At least make it exciting and make it first try wins, there is no honour in a drop kick unless it's at the end of regulation.

Yeah, if they insist on another ad break I'd also prefer a golden try finale. But what about penalty tries?

I'd say it would have to be standard tries to make it spectacle worthy. That's what sin bins are for.

Although both sides left plenty of points on the field last night through poor goalkicking, and a fulltime draw is still my preference.. How long before draws are a thing of the past?

If we evolve into taking away draws, then there is an argument that we should also get rid of the losing bonus point.

I liked what it did to the excitement of the respective matches.

Perhaps I would have had a different opinion if results went against my team.

This golden point rule had never ever happened in the history of Rugby(in NZ mind). They've had a goal kick shootout somewhere which was pathetic, and now this.

It's farcical that a coin toss could determine who wins a golden point.

The spectacle becomes less intriguing when all one team has to do is park inside the other teams halfway and force a mistake without having to play any offense

I'm probably correct in thinking, but with laws being changed every year ... do we still go to a 22m drop out after a missed attempt at a drop goal? Seems a bit harsh in the Golden Point scenario to have the defending team kick the ball back to the team that won the toss (presumably) and marched their way up for a speculative drop goal, only to blow it. "Here you go, try again."

Maybe a free kick from the mark of the attempt for the defending team? (fudge going for the scrum with all the dodginess that goes on there to milk penalties, not to mention random ref calls) When Frans Steyn first started launching them from around half, I thought then the law should be changed to say if you're going to have a go, you're not going to get the ball kicked back to you when you miss.
