Nope. Was deputy for a while but the "top" job was never my intention. Spent my life behind a microphone, not in front of it.

The box for the "Mayoral Chains" is larger and flatter. It has a velvet lining. I wore it only once in 10 years. That was to flag off a rather good ladies' event when I met the wonderful Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson.

Not on the web searches, I think, but she lived then in Darlington.
