This is a 10 tournament league building to a final in SF in the Autumn. It's blitz (15 minutes + 10 sec per move) but none the worse for that.
The current tournament has an astonishing entry of 16. All of the world's top 10, numbers 12,13, 14, 15 & then 2 others.
They have completed the 1st round (a round robin, everybody plays each other once) & start the q-finals tonight. The quality of the play is extraordinary - Caruana went 10/15 in the round robin. The q final list is better than the candidates tournament:
Caruana vs Nepomniachtchi, Giri vs Radjabov, Nakamura vs Carlsen, MVL vs So.
All the games are live on the website with a choice of commentary - expert & beginners. Really well worth a watch.
