It's not that hard. He's being treated differently because he's contracted to somebody else.
Is he the worst-advised sportsman in the world?

IIRC he's getting some funding for this from right wing / religious groups, so this is just part of his life now.

I'd imagine he gets a lot of cash in "support" of his legal cases, but in the small print, only something like 10% has to go towards legal fees etc. Like the Trump legal fees thing, where 90%+ was actually being spent on paying off campaign debts rather than legal fees.

As Vlandys pointed out, wouldn't they be better off spending their money on actual worthy causes?
