Tell me about it. I'll let you into a little secret. I've been a crossword compiler for <cough> years.

Araucaria became a good friend. I have a Monkey Puzzle tree in my garden in his memory.

You will possibly have had a go at some of mine posted on here. Not telling anyone of my moniker. Have a guess. I'm a Latin and Greek scholar, plus a bit of maths.

Good one hlvp. Latin and Greek are very useful in many crosswords. Elgar is very well knowledgeable.

The word is a bit unfortunate these days. It comes from the Greek meaning "different" hence heterosexuality.

Here's Elgar's Enigma Variation of "Nimrod" Conducted by Daniel Barenboim

Possibly the best version I can find. But it is sublime.

My dad's favourite and it was played by a local orchestra at his funeral. (I don't like CDs in church.)
