Getting run over by a Lions supporter.

Out innocently cycling as you do.. I am a relatively big guy on a bike. Unmissable.
Lions supporter (with lions rugby top, plays rugby and everything) didn't give way at a rounda'bout, sun was in his eyes, he was totally to blame..ploughed straight into me, launched me about 12 feet.
Head hit his bonnet, went for a lovely ride and was dumped unceremoniously and in back breaking agony, hard..and I mean hard..into to road.
Without a helmet I would have died.
Nearly killed me actually.
Honestly thought I broke my back.

Waited 3 hours for an ambulance (staying perfectly still as instructed by the police) that never came.
Waited 14 hours in a&e to see a doctor.
Was in hospital for 24 hours in agony.
Completely the drivers fault.
Fuck.... I hate the lions..
Like Tipiric, Wyn Jones, Alun Wyn Jones and Biggar..Probably out for next season.

Well. I wish I could spend 24 hours a day defending myself from people insisting (randomnly) that I am lying...with zero evidence, and just annoyance to guide them, and who just want something to say..for some bizarre reason..but life is too short.

I just think of Toby Young ..who at the peak of the Cameron government cruelty would insist that the victims of austerity "didn't exist" and that it just "didn't ring true".

That was it..the complete beginning, middle and end to his (and your) rebuttal.

Some privately educated, cossetted fucking spoilt cunt like Toby..who was being brought out of his known universe for three seconds to have sympathy and empathy.. and it didn't "ring true".
What the fuck does he know about truth.

And he clearly didn’t miss. Although no mention of it being the fault of the tories so he’s obviously taken a knock.

Just for general information..you don't want to be hit by a car and if you do... the soft tissue damage is just a living hell.
Think I damaged the cartiledge between my ribs, and it shoots the pain straight into my heart.
Everytime I get up, I get such searing stabbing pain, I think my heart is going to stop.
The whole street probably thinks someone is getting murdered in my flat.
Wish I broke a arm or a leg as a quick reset, and the pain would go away.

This stuff (as well as the back pain) is just debilitating.

Tonight I am trying alcohol.

Geraint would not be such as soft cock. He would dust himself off, get back to the front of the peloton and pull hard for the next 30km.

Are you taking them to court for compensation? Or done anything legal about it yet?

Assume you’ll also need to look at injury benefits depending on how damaged you are.

Well the last week has been just awesome. Coccyx agony, rib cartiledge injuries, thumb injuries, shoulder neck and lower back... Cannot sit down, cannot find a comfortable position in bed to sleep, scream when I try to turn over in bed, when I get to the half through position.....the pain killers (a massive dose of cocidomol called Zapain) are making me extremely constipated and the laxatives they gave me make me want to shit my pants constantly throughout the day.

I am confused a lot of the time and feel sluggish and strange.

I just leave stuff on the floor now, because I have the "clumsies".. and say fuck it.
Bending down is a bit of a agonising screamer.

But hey ho, still got my sense of humour..so.

Lol...Internet forums are just so f'king messed up.
Seems to be a running theme of "It is only interesting if...so how can we make this interesting".
You can be unemployed..
Apply for tens of thousands of jobs you are more than well qualified for,.
And have experience for..
Have great references doing etc..
But on forums " it is only interesting if" you are a scrounger.
A bludger...
It is only interesting if the references (you provided to get people to stfu and to prove them wrong) are made up..so let's just pretend that, instead of shutting the fuck up.
You can have a massive heart attack from the stress of unemployment.
Your heart can blow up double its size from the stress (it is called broken heart syndrome) ..but that isn't interesting.
Let's pretend he hasn't...even after he posted pictures of the massive amount of heart medication he now takes and the prescription.
You can be nearly killed in a road traffic accident, that was entirely
Not your fault..
Guy didn't give way. Ploughed straight in. Witnesses said I went flying through the air. Guy admitted guilt at the scene. Police report said so too.
But that isn't interesting.
So let's pretend it somehow was his fault.
Guys I am an unpaid carer, have been for years, money doesn't interest me.
I am a kind, thoughtful sweetheart.
People (friends from long ago) who actually know me, on hearing my news wanted to drive from London and Swansea to come here, stay and help me out.
Money doesn't interest me..and I actually like being in debt and having money problems as my job is so fucking difficult, and can be so gawdamned miserable and upsetting , debt keeps me honest. Keeps me turning up.
I live for playing the guitar. Jamming and improvising and music for me is better than money.
I don't need a new guitar.
A care home manager once was asked "why don't you pay carers more" and her answer was "we don't want people who do this for the money".
Don't project your nasty, warped dehumanising shit onto me.

I was a big guy on a bike. Unmissable. If he hit me, this guy could have easily hit a little girl, ploughed into a family..this roundabout is usually crossed by hundreds of cyclists (of all ages) a day, going up to a scenic cycle path.
In a way it is lucky he hit me,.
But hey that isn't interesting.

(I didn't read any of the posts here, I just assume full on dehumanising hateful crap is how it went, judging by the people responding).

Why are you an unpaid carer? Are you looking after an elderly relative? Even then, can't you get any financial support like a caregiver's allowance or some such?

Genuinely curious, as it's something I've had rather a lot to do with over the past few years.

Back seems to have sustained quite longterm injuries unfortunately.
Physio reckons some real bone on bone action is going on.
No nerve damage though fortunately, according to him.
Given me exercises to build up weakenned muscle around the area.
Hit a fifty year old bloke in a bike with a car.. and the car usually wins by fucking their back right up.
Thought I was going insane with the pain just two weeks ago.
Re Carers..
Wales has something like 730 thousand unpaid carers at the last count (they don't do it for the pay, not that many carers do anyway..they do it out of true compassion and love) , who are mainly f'king heros like me who look after family members whilst living on barely fucking survivable subsistence amounts of money off the government..who then take most of it away by charging you the bedroom tax.

If I turned up to work in my state two days after the accident, like I did (or do) sometimes, in any other line of work or job, I would be sent home immediately..unpaid carer though, just have to fucking do it.

If we walked the NHS would collapse overnight.

The amount of cyclists I screamed "get a fucking helmet" at like I am king of the road safety twats is ridiculous...but seriously, if you are cycling..get a fucking helmet and if you see a cyclist not wearing one shout "get a fucking helmet" at them, so as to make me look less odd when I do it.

Its strange how different our worlds are. There is not a person in Africa from Egypt to Cape Town who gets a social grant for being a carer. I suspect most of the world's population are not paid for taking care of elderly relatives. You guys are lucky.

730k carers in a population of about 3m, suggests a very wide definition of the word. Surely?

I had a bicycle accident in Aberdeen, heading home for lunch, no helmet, a mini pulls out of traffic in front of me, I hit the brakes, front brake locks and I go over the handle bars and I get pile-driven head first on the tarmac. Passerby grabs my hand and presses it against the top of my head to staunch the bleeding, ambulance was there within five minutes. Was in ER at ARI inside of another five.

You First World cunts don't know what a failing Health Service is.

:???: I have just spent a week at a castle in Scotland absolutely stunning scenery. Went to Culloden as all the girlies were Outlander fans and were hoping to be ‘transported’ into Jamie’s arms :???: We then visited Inverness I have never seen so many unhealthy looking people in one place before. It was really quite a shock.
