Too much Kanye. I'm out.
It's odd because I've never listened to a single Kanya single that I can recall.
I guess he's not for our demographic. I find with a lot of these folk, like Kanye, Beyonce, JayZ etc etc, I have absolutely no interest in their music but you catch them live and you see why they are so popular. I remember watching Beyonce at Glastonbury and was absolutely blown away - have never listened to her once since.

It's true. I am a huuuge Trance music fan and seeing some of them performed live will blow your Class-A mind, but it wouldn't get anywhere near this list. Maybe Rolling Stones don't consider any of them songs they would even review?

Even excepting the need to "look cool" by placing a Hip Hop track at no2, Public Enemy > Run DMC? Seriously?

It’s a bastard to try and get through without an ad blocker, that’s for sure
Download the Brave browser, it cuts out everything. I use it for most things now, hardly ever see a pop up anymore.

It's total rubbish. Never seen so much piffle.
I've been a musician since I was 3 years old. I'm a veritable encyclopedia from then to 1986 when I stopped being a DJ.

We’ll, there’s a problem right there - maybe it’s a question of demographics
Let’s say that if first billboard chart was listed in 1930 something and one’s interest in popular music wains in the mid 80s, you’d not be best qualified to comment on 40ish % of the period there have been charts
That’s definitely the way I feel when I go through that list - there’s plenty of artists that I’m aware of, aware they’re global superstars on the last 20 years or so, but I’ve got no interest at all in listening to their music (although I still listen to loads and loads of music)
Getting old and out of date I guess

Finally a list where I liked 90% of the songs... It's not unusual didn't make it though...

I wonder how many hip-hop fans are reading this list and going: "The Beatles? Van Halen? Bob Dylan! All garbage!!! "

To be fair Dylan was kind of rapping in 1965

That's funny, the cathedral choir I was selected to sing in and the school rock band I was lead singer in thought I had
But hey, you probably think you know better you condescending arse

Any list without Oliver Mtukudzi is invalid. Neria is a stone cold classic. Youssou N'Dour with 7 Seconds is another African musician who should be there. Enormously popular in the West.
