Worst terrorist ever

Defo safer than Stanley Park. Even if the terrorists wanted another try.Margin__Walker wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:17 pm Proper rubber dinghy rapids stuff thankfully.
Mrs is off to Liverpool Women's this afternoon. Slightly disconcerting, but I doubt there are many safer places in the city today.
I think it was after the bomb went off, which in fairness was quite suspicious.Insane_Homer wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 4:03 pm I've been told, by someone in the office, that the taxi driver thought the twat was behaving suspiciously, so locked him in the car![]()

And take your pick, either targeting a women’s hospital full of babies or a cathedral hosting a Remembrance Day service. Top lads.

Since the driver got away I think it went off perfectlyYmx wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 8:55 pm If you watch the video (in the link in OP) the bomb/detonator goes off with the taxi driver in the car. You can see him scramble out after it goes off. Assume it failed to go off properly.
Looks like he used TATP; & got a failing grade in organic Chemistry.Slick wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 9:04 pmSince the driver got away I think it went off perfectlyYmx wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 8:55 pm If you watch the video (in the link in OP) the bomb/detonator goes off with the taxi driver in the car. Fucking brave security guy running straight towards it to help the guy out
Not sure it is, the beeb saying he's converted to Christianity. Although could've lapsed or cynically used the conversion for asylum I guess.Slick wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 8:20 pm Pretty much confirmed as another Islamic terrorist attack

Yes, all others released, suggestions of him being mentally ill - although they all are. Agree though what a scumbag. Very lucky nobody died.
If he's a failed asylum seeker I thought he'd be in a yarls wood type place?
... in recent years he may have converted to Christianity and also suffered from mental health issues.
Apparently a "Christian convert". Evidently could not decide which god ordered him to murder innocents.Slick wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 8:20 pm Pretty much confirmed as another Islamic terrorist attack

By the initial looks of it, nothing too serious despite it happening in city centre. Hopefully the plums involved were just as incompetent as the Liverpool one.
But they still think the target was the Cathedral, not a terribly Christian act. Plus the explosive used was the same one used by the Manchester bomber and others. Looks like a lot more to come out about this. As I said, they are all fucked in the heid anyway.Insane_Homer wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 8:31 am Can the op please change the thread title, not a terrorist afterall![]()
Turns out he's Christian, with mental health issues...

I don't think that's right, they always seem to arrest family members, usually the first ones to be arrested.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:36 am As an aside, why do we never hear of any of these plums' family members being arrested? Hard to believe no family or close friends ever had suspicions that these arseholes were demented, god botherers.
Will take your word for it. I'm leaning towards the Keyser Soze/Walter Kurtz solution to this.Slick wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:37 amI don't think that's right, they always seem to arrest family members, usually the first ones to be arrested.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:36 am As an aside, why do we never hear of any of these plums' family members being arrested? Ball bearing bombs don't work in tightly confined spaces. They are designed for the opposite. In that level of proximity, the explosive itself will do all the damage. Good job the **** f*cked up his attack.Kawazaki wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:41 am Have you seen the CCTV of it going off? I assume the bomber was in the back seat but the bomb didn't even injure the driver. Bomb was packed with ball bearings too apparently.
I wonder what was going through his mind in the last few seconds as he self immolated - hopefully something like "serves me right for being a cunt"Torquemada 1420 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:46 amBall bearing bombs don't work in tightly confined spaces. Hang on, you think the solution to people being radicalised is to go after their families?Torquemada 1420 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:39 amWill take your word for it. Slightly odd given that seems to be the number 1 reason they become radicalised.JM2K6 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:56 amHang on, you think the solution to people being radicalised is to go after their families?Torquemada 1420 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:39 amWill take your word for it. They do it for five generations in North Korea.
I was being sarcastic. However, it's an interesting moral intellectual exercise whether when faced with an enemy whose modus operandi is to "die to the last man or victory", the only practical solutions are surrender or total annihilation.JM2K6 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:56 amHang on, you think the solution to people being radicalised is to go after their families?Torquemada 1420 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 9:39 amWill take your word for it. I suspect that rooted in Islam is a seed of such destruction that has inevitable flowerings. The Umayyads ran a model of tolerance, prosperity art and culture..... only for most of them to have their heads cut off by the radical Abbasyds.JM2K6 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 1:35 pm Not doing the thing that creates people like that in the first place is a decent starting point.
Well, you're the one demanding solutions that can cover even bizarre people like this guy, so what's your idea beyond silly "salt the earth" reprisals?Torquemada 1420 wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:16 pmI suspect that rooted in Islam is a seed of such destruction that has inevitable flowerings. I don't doubt that what you say is is a contributory factor. However, part of the failing (be it in subjugation/conquest or seeking peace/isolation) is in seeing the matters through Western tinted glasses. You simply cannot find solutions** using a moral or logical framework that does not map on to your subject.
{EDIT}** I should have said "solutions to your satisfaction".
No one should buy this converted to Christianity shit. His ‘conversion’ was only so the bedwetters wouldn’t send the cunt home as it would be dangerous for him in his backwards medieval country as a supposed apostateI like neeps wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 10:57 pmNot sure it is, the beeb saying he's converted to Christianity.
