Terrible situation with her disappearing after speaking out against being raped.

Interesting to see which individuals and organisations have the mortal fortitude to speak out against the CCP. The IOC obviously backing the CCP (Peng is a three times Olympian). The WTA threatening a boycott. Hope they have the balls to carry it out and that the ATP joins them.

Certain of the Japanese media reported this first as her having admitted to having an affair with a senior bureaucrat.

Even by Chinese leadership vanity standards, her alleged rapist has the most laughably obvious toupee.

Was there an email purporting to be from her that retracted the allegations?
Very believable that.

Yeah, an email and a WhatsApp post, both obviously fake. The CCP don't normally respond to outside pressure but I think there is an opportunity here to make them lose face if enough pressure is brought by the ATP and WTA, it's all about the money now. The IOC is a lost cause. Despite the censorship people in China are well aware of this case.

Have to say; well done to the WTA !
It's a brave decision; & will no doubt have a lot of other sporting organizers looking at their feet; when the media challenges them on why they're still holding events in the PRC.

Yeah, China are going to be mega pissed about this gaining even more traction thanks to their ham fisted efforts to shut the story down.
Good recap.
There is a Winnie the Pooh picture in the background of one of her photos.
