I remember that Wade try. I learnt something that day. Love those little bits.

I knew what the Italians were doing when they did the now defunct strategy of not making a ruck so there's no offsides. There was a super rugby side doing it (one of the NZ sides) before that I believe, (Nathan Hughes did it once or twice for Wasps too). I suspect most them were triggered from Samoa vs England, where a lot of that same England side had it happen I think at least twice in that fixture from the previous season. That was fun :D.

Currently I quite enjoy the ball still in play stuff. Where you need to land infield for it to class as not out, but you can hit the ball from an out of play position. But if it's crossed the touchline in the air, and you land out of play, it's considered to be out. Some players still don't seem to have learnt what to do.

Not exactly clever bits of rugby knowledge, but the best bit of cheating I've seen was Marcus Garrett for Wasps in a prem cup game. Wasps were repeatedly giving away pens in the maul, and were 5m out. Mostly young squad, just getting demolished. Garrett went up in a lineout and just punched the ball 20 yards up field, completely deliberate knock on. But because due to the circumstances, it was just called as a knock on, and after a few phases (and still 20 yards away), the ref called advantage over, and Wasps had a lot of pressure relieved.

Not necessarily knowledge, but I like to think it was clever, and it's my personal playing highlight. Choke tackle maul on myself, we were going forwards nicely, but they started angling us towards the touchline. I waited until we were a meter or so away, let the opponent who'd been trying to rip it off me, take the ball. Shot my arms up in the air, stared straight at the ref waving and screamed at him that they've ripped the ball off me, and they're in possession. 2 seconds later we're all in touch and it's our lineout :D.
