Online one-to-one language classes

bit of a long shot, has anyone tried any online language classes like verbling or similar? It's essentially a middleman for tutors to give one-to-one classes online.
Was looking at picking up my French again, but family commitments means making any scheduled class at any reasonable time is not really viable unless I'm prepared to miss half of them, which rather misses the point.
any comments on value for money, effectiveness, actual progress/benefit would be appreciated.

Duolingo is pretty decent but you have to stick with it.

Duolingo is good for getting the basics, being able to understand what's going on around you etc. Not sure about how good it is beyond that.

It's not very good beyond the basics, at least imo. My French used to be quite good, at least my comprehension was good and I thought and dreamt in French when I lived there, but it was a long time ago and I wasn't that impressed with Duolingo tbh.
Immersion is the best way to learn a language, most cities or big towns will have conversation groups who meet in pubs or cafes, perhaps they have gone to zoom now, but they will still be there.
I had a look at Verbling and the rates vary from £20+ to £39+ per hour, which isn't a lot if you can afford it.
The Open University might be another option, they go from beginners to graduate level in several languages. I did a programming course with them years ago and I thought it was excellent.
