..a fly half who’s played five games in a row against England without losing one?
Mathematically certain if those stats are correctGrandpa wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 1:30 am Dan Carter has played England 11 times.... and only lost once in 2012... so likely 5 in a row somewhere there?
I think Marcus Smith is a great player and may go on to be a legendary one. But I did crack a bit of a wry smile at the commentators describing him as ‘magical’ whilst his opposite number delivered a masterclass.weegie01 wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:51 am If it was qualified as a 5/6 Nations fly half, probably not.
I thought that was one of Russell's best games ever. Apart from one missed kick to touch (it is Russell after all) he was making tackles, distributing well and nailing kicks. None of the flash that usually gets him noticed, all the basic craft of a 10 at the top of his game.
Do you mean the player's 5 appearances in a row or the side's? Because injuries would have a serious impact on the latter stats.Biffer wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:34 am ..a fly half who’s played five games in a row against England without losing one?
Even I have to agree with that. He was clearly told to play a tactical game and did exactly that. Definitely won the territory duel with Smith.weegie01 wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:51 am If it was qualified as a 5/6 Nations fly half, probably not.

As has been noted elsewhere, he was helped by Scotland playing a game plan that was more suited to his skills, whereas England were playing to Eddie's masterplan, which is counter to Smith's instincts and skills.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 10:19 amEven I have to agree with that.
