I don't think the title specifies which side capitulates? Match threads famously start from a neutral position.

Will be interesting to see what side we put out. We'll hopefully have more of the ball this week.

Probably 3 selection discussions:
Johnson v Redpath
Bradbury v Christie v Darge for 6 and bench spot.
Tuipulotu v Steyn v maybe Redpath for the 23 shirt.

Ritchie is a big miss.I haven't seen Christie play but he has had a fair bit of rugby this season and I'm told he can play across the back three of the scrum.
Haining is another possibility for the 6 shirt or bench. If we want the most like Ritchie, given what I said about Christie, then Darge is the most "pain in the arse of the opposition" player, whilst Bradbury and Haining offer a bit of oomph in the carry.

I like Redpath, he just oozes class, does he carry hard like Johnson? I'm not sure, but he does have a great kicking game and brings those "second five eighth" distribution skills.

I thought about Haining but I don't think he's as strong in the line out and Ritchie is strong there so I think that needs to come into it against Beard who is very strong there. Skinner is an outside bet too.

We don't really ask much of our centres in attack all that often. Redpath is capable of taking the ball to the line if need be and I think he offers more v a centre like Halaholo. I suspect we'll stay with Johnson though.

Looking forward to this. Wales are no where near as bad as they loomed last week. This will be a close one IMO.

Thistle rugby pod suggesting Skinner and Tuipulotu and in line for the 6 and 12 jerseys.

I think that 12 selection would play into Wales hands.

I scrummed against him in practice during the 95 World Cup in Bloemfontein before the Test against Japan.
He gave me a proper hiding. Then an excellent coaching session which culminated in 100's of beers at Zola Budd's sports bar with a few of the Welsh players.

It was brilliant.

If Wales play that powder puff backrow agains Scotland they will be destroyed.

Adams experiment on the center went all Bergamasco, so back to the wing with McNicholl to the bench.
Willis into midfield or unfortunately Jiffy jnr as he is in the squad.

Moriarty to start.

None of the back row last week would even make the aquad if all our players were fit.

Basham could be Ok with Navidi or Toby alongside.

None of our hookers can hit a barn door tbh.

'Wounded' Wales in Cardiff, I don't fancy our chances. I'm expecting the usual Welsh win.

I'll be at the game, hopefully no one pukes on me.

Nothing like a game in Cardiff to shatter our embryonic confidence.

The form book does suggest a Scotland win, but we’ve been here way too many times before. Wales will doubtless come at us like maniacs and we will need to be considerably better than we were last week.

No real complaints (again) although I'd probably swap Maggie and Skinner.

Adams was that bad he's been binned from the entire matchday 23? Or he is injured? Thought he might have been put back on the wing where he belongs.

Adams injured calf tweak.

Cuthbert should not even be near the squad.

OP updated with the teams.

Springbokian shenanigans by Townsend, swapping out the entire front row.
Not convinced by Tuipolotou but up to him to replicate his Glasgow form. Good to see Darge and Redpath among the replacements.
Skinner at 6 - here's to hoping he's quick enough to play the Scotland back row game.

Tuipulotu is a bit of a flat track bully so should do alright against Wales.

He's certainly no worse a centre than Tompkins and Watkin.

Josh Adams injured or dropped?

He was gash at 13 but he's a top quality winger. Lightyears ahead of Fluffburt anyway.

Edit. I see he's injured

Also what injury is LRZ carrying? Looked way off the boil in Dublin. Is he fully fit?

At least we won’t be overburdened by complex line out choices - Beard, Beard or Beard.

Just realised - is McNicholl dropped for Cuthbert? Adams is injured but there’s no reference to a JMcN injury that I can see.

Ffs Cnutbert.
Not a justification but he must only be picked to tackle the Flying DutchSafferScotchman.
If Darcey Bussell runs at him he is fucked.

At least or backrow will be aggressive and physical.
Really hopjng Lake can sort his darts out, he is a big lad with a big future.

My amateur psychology theory with Cuthbert is that he was never the same after Gatland dropped him for Bowe on the Lions tour in 2013. I suppose I could check whether the facts back that up but I can’t be bothered.

Cuthbert was so hoof-handed at times that he was only referred to as Horse on another forum.

But yes. he is going to run in a scorcher to seal it now.

...that is if we believe that online comments several days before a sporting event can influence what happens.

It was on the other place, it might have been that the explanation was made to retrofit the name right enough, I can’t remember
