All blacks own goal

Bit of a shooting yourself in the foot moment from the All Blacks twitter account. To celebrate International Women's Day, all the pictures are of male players with wives and girlfriends. No women players.
Oh, and a domestic abuser is one of the players featured.

Eesh. I can sort of understand the All Blacks account, rather than the NZRU one, not including refs or female players since they belong to different entities, but Reece's present goes beyond a misstep.

Probably don't need to feature the female players since the Black Ferns have their own account.
The Reece pic is questionable though.

I'd have thought featuring somebody who stuffed up but has since redeemed himself send precisely the right signal. Or is redemption not allowed in some areas...

It's not about that, although there are some who will never look at the good work Reece did on himself after the event.
The thing is.... you're talking about a male player. The post was trying to be all about honouring International Womens' day... men have no part in that.
None.
It's fucking backward thinking that presenting men to offer up some sort of tribute to women on that day is going to fly. It misses the point spectacularly... that women historically struggle for recognition, respect and equality. It's classic (and I hate the term but it has a place) patriarchal powerplay.
The follow up 'apology' post is nearly as cringeworthy. Fucking embarrassing... but by no means a sole contributor in the global game of men missing the point about women's rights or equality or feminism or whatever you'd like to call it.
NZR really needs a cleanout.

Saw that on Twitter. What a howler. The outrage went on for 2 days before anybody seemed to notice. Terrible PR.

Stuffing up is like, uh, crashing your car or signing the wrong thing or getting involved in gambing when you shouldn't. Not assaulting your wife.
As for redemption, what redemption? He didn't have to serve any real punishment because it would have affected his career. Have I missed the sustained and serious work he's put in to help reduce domestic violence? What has he done to redeem himself beyond continuing to play rugby?
At the very fucking least, he shouldn't be anywhere near a promo for International Women's Day.

Clearly there are plenty more bottles of Chateau Loser for the Northern Hemisphere fans to neck before the sting of the butthurt begins to ease.
No surprise to see the usual suspects going in boots and all on a fairly innocuous mistake.
You see it in NZ too. Everyone hates the Crusaders.

Not sure why you're fixated with "butthurt" here, not sure what that has anything to do with it at all
For innocuous read crass.

What butthurt? NZ are our bitches. Ireland, England, France all walloped the All Blacks the last time we played them. Not only are you the loser, but you're dumb enough to think that performance on the pitch has anything to do with this.

Not sure if you've noticed, but if there is an All Blacks loss, or even a social media mistake, JMK and eldaniel will be all over it within seconds.

Right, yeah, that's me. I talked loads about the ABs losing to Ireland and France. Couldn't shut up about it. And you can't move for me commenting on their social media presence. You got me nailed. Well done.

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. It is also a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
It could be seen as ironic that in the country which was the first to achieve universal suffrage that nearly 130 years later their major sports team, a world wide recognisable team, probably the most successful team in the history of sport, celebrates by thanking the wimmin who support them in being able to do the stuff they do, "Make us a cup of tea, luv, I'm just doing the twitter account about how great all you girls are"
