Sounded like a John Lewis christmas ad to me, give the wolf a banana should have won, a true Eurovision epic, something that epitomises the competition.

Wow 2nd. That’s bloody amazing!

Wasn’t expecting that for the nasty Brexit country, with our bumbling pm.

Perhaps the UK hates itself more than others do.

Even as someone who believes the Scotland should make its own choices I don’t hate the UK.

The Right adopts this same arrogance here as I’ve seen in the US, the “love the shite choices we have made or leave the country”

The UK is not only Brexit stupidity and austerity politics, there is a lot to like about it, not least the music that comes out of the countries within it.

The song was quite good, very Eurovision

"Help Azovstal, right now,” Psiuk implored.

The European Broadcasting Union, which organises the contest, said no action would be taken against Kalush Orchestra for using the stage to make a statement.

“We understand the deep feelings around Ukraine at this moment and believe the comments of the Kalush Orchestra and other artists expressing support for the Ukrainian people to be humanitarian rather than political in nature,” the EBU said
Hmm, Russia must be f*cked so.

supporting one’s country = bad right wing
Brexit = stupid
Scottish independence = freedom

Got it.

Perhaps they judged the song. As for supporting one's country a load of right wingers were against supporting the England football team. Brexit as promised to public = great.
Brexit reality = shite and the public has been massively let down. I do support my country and I'm really pissed off about how this government has let down my country and the people in it.

Edit: I'm saddened by how accepting the British public is of being abused by the current government. The pm and his stooges are not the country.

Indeed, it appears that the reason the UK got nul points for the last decade was largely because the UK didn't take the Eurovision Contest seriously and the songs and performers were dreadful, and not because everyone hates the UK. Committed Euro watchers (I'm not one of them I hasten to add) have noted that the BBC completely changed its approach to choosing the song writers and performers this year, and seem to have been vindicated in moving from last place to second (and would probably have won without the understandable desire to see Ukraine win)

Its also worth noting that the only reason the UK was included in previous finals for its annual humiliation was that it is guaranteed a place as one of the big five broadcasters. If the UK had relied on the quality of song alone in previous years, it would have been in a similar position to Ireland, who have now failed to qualify for the Eurovision final on seven of their last 10 attempts.

You actually believe there is quality in this comp? And that it’s a major factor.

Come on !!
