RIP, an entertainer in the truest sense who probably impacted on the childhood of several generations, as well as roles all over the shop in film, TV and theatre.

Don't know why I always thought of him as a Londoner or from the Home Counties, probably because 'Right Said Fred' has a bit of a cockney feel but a Lancashire lad from Oldham. Someone who you'd be very happy to have as your dad or granddad, had a real aura of kindness and charm. RIP

Damn. Little bit of my childhood gone. Fabulous entertainer and by all accounts an absolutely lovely man.

His final TV appearance will be in Dr Who next year.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
