Couldn’t bring myself to put it on. Too close to home

It could have been a much harder watch if they'd gone down a sentimental route, but they didn't and they did good work on the subject matter as a result.
It was interesting to see George Taylor appearing, the ex-Edinburgh player who retired at 24(?) after symptoms. He could well have carried on and won full international honours etc, but he decided it wasn't worth the risk.

I appreciate from what you've said before that the film would be too close to home

So if it's too close to home, why watch and support rugby?

These injuries are incidental to the sport, not accidental.

The sport demands players put their heads into places they have no right being, resulting in these long term, terrible conditions.

It is like supporting horse racing, if the rider was riding the horse from beneath it, whilst the horse was kicking him his head the whole time and saying "well the sport would end if we did anything".

Yah think!!
80 minutes of entertainment for this, and somehow it's worth it?

It really isn't.
List of things you can do for eigHty minutes where no one gets early onset senile dementia from their brain banging into the inside of their skull.

Play chess.
Play Guitar.
Chat online.
Talk politics.
Watch a movie.
Go shop for another watch.
Go for a walk.
Make your Mrs laugh and give her lots of attention.
Go shopping for clothes.
Learn to fly a helicopter in VR.
Cook something nice.
Visit your folks.
Cut the grass and do a spot of gardening.

You don't need to sully yourselves by watching a sport with such a high human cost.
