Du Toit was shoved off balance. He came in recklessly and a red (and therefore a ban) is still the right decision for me, but I can understand the panel not throwing the book at him. Dupont had no such excuse, he chose his actions.

It had absolutely no impact, watch it again, you can see DuToit launch himself using his knees at the French player, the push is just a smokescreen to try to downplay what was a very nasty assault.

That gif is really dodgy. It speeds up the moment Du Toit is shoved (not by Kwagga, by the other one, changes his direction), and then slows back down again, to make it look like he's accelerating into it more than he was.

Toulouse and France full-back Thomas Ramos has been handed a five-week ban for two separate incidents in last weekend’s clash with Sale Sharks.
The 27-year-old was red carded in the final minute for headbutting Byron McGuigan but was cited for another incident earlier in the match.
Ramos was alleged to have made contact with the eye area of Sale’s Gus Warr

You, as a ref, should know better than anyone that contact with the eye area =/= gouge every time, hence the wording of the offence. An actual gouge would be a high entry and even with maximum reductions wouldn't get anywhere near 5 weeks.
Technically he has received separate 5 and 4 weeks bans, but they're being allowed to run concurrently for some reason. The lesson there seems to be that if you're going to commit an act of foul play you might as well go for multiples because your ban will functionally only be the number of weeks incurred for the worst one.

Not particularly outstanding. Hamish Watson 58 internationals one yellow card. Peter O’Mahony ffs, one yellow one red in 90 internationals. Richie McCaw 140 plus, two yellow cards. Sean O’Brian 63 caps no cards.
