I was on the right side of the brexit debate, the treat the poor, sick unemployed fairly and with decency and respect debate, the tories are self serving fucking scum, and will destroy the country debate, the global warming debate.

It doesn't matter. This anti woke narrative shit is like a fucking unstoppable wrecking ball. It is getting people worked up just as much as anything.

The tories are going to win the next election on this anti woke bollocks.

Its a huge distraction for them.

Except wearing a mask always was, at best, marginal and certainly now is bollox. Wearing a mask does not prevent you contracting COVID and might (ONLY MIGHT) help prevent the spread of it IF you have COVID. And if you had COVID, you weren't meant to be f**king out anyway.

On top of that, as we expected, the death rates as a result of failure to detect and treat other illnesses early enough during COVID are going to swamp those who died WITH COVID. "With" because f**k all died because of COVID alone: the majority were those who had other conditions which would have shortened their life expectancies anyway or made them additionally vulnerable to any additional contraction e.g. flu, pneumonia etc.

Oh dear! Torq manages to ironically make Line6 point for him by spouting this nonsense about mask wearing and covid deaths! He honestly couldn't have supported his point any more than he has. I thought this had been put to bed yonks ago following tons of medical research and findings supporting their wearing of masks in controlling covid spread and the excess deaths resulting directly from covid infections. It is amazing how deep the stupidity goes.

As much as you want to not fall into the trap of dehumanising the opposition, it's sometimes very hard to think of many on the right as having greater brain function than an amoeba. This is down there with 'Rage Against The Machine are a left wing band!?'

People need to stop feeding the media by reacting to this shit.

I don't see why people need to give a fuck about every topic, or get worked up about stuff that has little to do with their lives.

The media chuck "woke" articles out into the public domain to wind everyone up to consume their shite, and then to consume all the reactionary shit from the likes of Clarkson etc.

Just stop giving the parasitic cunts attention, there's a good lad

Can't be arsed to look for the statement on the .GOV website which said, throughout the whole or COVID, exactly the same
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/ ... 9-says-who

And you are denying the excess death rates as a consequence? Have you seen the state of the NHS on the news recently? PS a few months ago I was at a Cancer Research function with many NHS experts in attendance including the guy heading the immunotherapy research and 2 of the highest paid surgeons in the country (1 pancreatic cancer and the other respiratory). All 3 opined that the deaths resulting from failure to detect and treat for cancer, heart attacks and diabetes combined were going to surpass COVID RELATED deaths.

There are around two hundred and fifteen thousand deaths due to Covid in the UK so far.

Counting numbers due to missed diagnoses during lockdown would be difficult, I imagine. Something like lung cancer acts pretty quickly after diagnosis, if the member of my family had had the symptoms at the beginning of lockdown he would have been gone before it ended.
The only figures I can find for percentage of cancers that go undiagnosed without covid and lockdowns is somewhere between 10 and 20% in the US, you'd have to factor in the relevant number for the UK.

What counts as a particular number being swamped? Double, triple, four times? Even at double you'd be looking at four hundred thousand preventable deaths, deaths that would not have happened if the person had been able to see a doctor during the first wave of Covid, and note, the lack of an appointment would have to be the primary failing which caused the death due to the condition becoming untreatable, if like my family member they would have gone anyway, that can't be counted the same.

It may well be the case that more will die due to missed diagnoses, but without the actions taken many more would have died from Covid.

I don't know how you'd quantify all this accurately.
