Has anyone else received eye-water renewal quotes recently? Others in the office complaining of similar from theirs...

I just got mine from LV= for the next year - a small increase of only 61% from last year...
So Last year £386
new quote £ 624

Thankfully I knew this was imminent and have not been very happy with their service since they fcuked me on a claim in '2. I kept an email received from Tesco Insurance a few weeks ago highlighted in my inbox ready for just this type of eventuality.

I’m with LV, renewal was in November. Too lazy to check but any increase there might have been was reasonable. About £160 for a 3 bed semi, no claims for about twenty years.

Mine's going up by about 25%, no explanation as to why - never made a claim on it.

Just renewed. £290 up to £360. Couldn’t find a better deal, although £360 matches what we were paying someone else 4 years ago.

The only additional high value item on the policy is wife's engagement ring which added about £20 to the policy. Everything else standard terms.

Both. Only Globus gets separate quotes.

My building insurance is a joint policy with fellow owners of flats. Content insurance I organise myself. My building insurance remained roughly the same but my content insurance went down from £132 to £88 - a reduction of £44 - for exactly the same cover with Tesco Home Insurance. Ive not had a claim in 10+ years so that helps.

We are moving ours but because we have just been through laughably bad service when replacing a hob that got damaged. Idiots

I'm the same. I have been with Legal and General for years as they have always been very competitive. They were taken over by LV last year and this years quote went from ££429 to £795.
I phoned them to complain and said I wouldn't be renewing. I then did a price comparison to find they were the cheapest.
Haven't a clue what is going on.

Ehh, Yes I do. I've always been pretty stunned how cheap L&G used to be because one of my gardening clients actually owns an insurance brokerage. He looked at specialist insurance for my watches and a couple of bits of nice jewellery my wife has and the figures were actually higher than my house insurance. That was one of the reasons I stayed with the same insurer for so long

just received the "Mazda" renewal for her car and it's gone from £449 to £846 - phoned up to tell them I won't be auto-renewing (sic) and she asks, is it because of the price (duh!) and she says it's due to new underwriters - LV=

edit: bang some deets into uswitch - Tesco - £330

They were one of the cheapest a few years ago but recent quote on Hyundai with 7yr no claims was £860. Found for £300 elsewhere
