50 50 calls with Ramos and Penaud over Keenan and Hansen but can see why they got the nod.

Hansen really only got going properly in the last couple of games, was pretty underwhelmed by him at the star.Jim Lahey wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:18 am 50 50 calls with Ramos and Penaud over Keenan and Hansen but can see why they got the nod.
How could you leave this guy out?Gumboot wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:42 am The one thing everyone can agree on is the absence of English players. Annus horribilis.
I was going to say too many Scots. But it's not been a vintage year for props - and both France and Ireland had their issues at tighthead especially. Would possibly still go with Furlong at 3, even if he didn't play much; when he did play he showed he's a class above.laurent wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:54 am Rugbyrama's take

7. Josh van der Flier (Irlande)
8. Caelan Doris (Irlande)
9. Antoine Dupont (France)

13. Huw Jones (Écosse)
14. Damian Penaud (France)
15. Thomas Ramos (France)
I think from 1 to 15 we could make the case for the French or Irish player to be in the team of the tournament, there's very little between the teams and they have quality in every single position.JM2K6 wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 9:08 am Furlong struggled in the scrum against a side not known for their scrummaging prowess, I wouldn't be keen to shoehorn him in there.
Aldritt ahead of Doris for me. Doris is excellent, Aldritt game-breakingly good.
Back when I still listened to The Good, The Bad and The Rugby I remember Ellis Genge giving out to the Italians for celebrating little things in game while behind on the scoreboard
I agree. Doris was exceptional but Aldritt for me is the best forward in the game atm, closely followed by VDF.JM2K6 wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 9:08 am Furlong struggled in the scrum against a side not known for their scrummaging prowess, I wouldn't be keen to shoehorn him in there.

He really didn't have any stinkers. This seems to have been established as FACT but it's bullshit when you look at his contributions in the games he was meant to be shit in.EnergiseR2 wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 11:12 amWhoever wins player of the tournament is likely to be currently better. 7 Irish, 5 French, 2 Scottish, 1 Italian in the XV seems fairish. 9 Irish, 6 French, 4 Scottish, 2 English, 1 Italian, 1 Welsh in the 23.
These were the outstanding players in each position according to Fantasy Six Nations!

Piss orf
Itoje had a really poor tournament. Beirne or Richie Gray for the bench.
In terms of impact on his team, Richie Gray ought to be in the XV! But this was simply a team based on Fantasy Six Nations' numbers.clydecloggie wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 2:29 pmItoje had a really poor tournament. Beirne or Richie Gray for the bench.
As massive a tournament as he had, I wouldn't pick him in the XV over Flament or Ryan.charltom wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 2:44 pmIn terms of impact on his team, Richie Gray ought to be in the XV! I agree with you, even if the numbers don't. TBF it would be Beirne just on average performance but he's hampered by a lack of games.
I'll rephrase:clydecloggie wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 3:59 pmAs massive a tournament as he had, I wouldn't pick him in the XV over Flament or Ryan.charltom wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 2:44 pmIn terms of impact on his team, Richie Gray ought to be in the XV! 4 out of the 6 are back 3 players - that's just not right.CM11 wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 4:26 pm Ramos, Dupont, Penaud, Hansen, Doris and Keenan the nominees for player of the tournament.

Has to go to Dupont surely, but Id have Flamnet in the shortlist instead of maybe Hansen.
