Razor's dream team

I like the look of the coaching team
Incumbent All Blacks forwards coach Ryan will continue his role in 2024. Current Blues Head Coach MacDonald will lead the attack with assistance from Hurricanes Head Coach Holland, while Crusaders Assistant Coach Hansen will be in charge of defence. Nic Gill, who has been a key part of the All Blacks management group since 2008, will stay on as Head of Performance, leading the Health and Performance team.

Yep, very happy he got the coaching team he wanted.

I'm actually more excited about next year's ABs than this year's bloody World Cup.

I'm happy to see Rangi get a call...

but that is quite a large coaching team. I've got no doubt Razor is the sort of leader to gel his team... but that is quite a large coaching team.

It sounds like Razor's very much a motivational, theme-based GM-style head coach, so I hope that the more technical, details-focussed assistants he has, the better.

I almost feel sorry for fans of other teams.

Almost...

Phew, ROG was stoking up chatter over here about Andrew Goodman being poached away from Leinster to rejoin Razor. Delighted to see that hasn't any legs.

Yep! That’s pretty much how I feel too

He'd made it clear that he wasn't interested in staying on after this year.

He didn't apply for the main job but that's not the same thing as he was looking to leave totally?

Last year when Foster came within an inch of losing the job and NZR had told Razor to get his bags packed and be ready, it was Schmidt's loyalty to Foster that helped sway NZR into not sacking him. He went further, saying that he wouldn't feel comfortable working with a new coach as his loyalty was to Foster.

We don't need that murky, Emerald Isle style treachery in our midst.

Sounds like you have plenty of your own murky dealings in the land of the long white cloud.
