Glasgow 2023

Just a heads up:

Lived here for a couple of years in the mid 80's and loved it before I moved down to London /Yorkshire.

Over for a 4 night break:

1. Had the the best curry in the last 40 years.. fing awesome
2. Got tickets to see the Banksy Cut and Run exhibition... one of the most moving 90 minutes in my life!!
3. Biggest surprise.. did the Tennants Brewery tour... absolutely entertaining 2 hrs. The guide Callum was brilliant. Great drinks option and so much better than the Guinness tour in Dublin. Very surprised.

Thoroughly recommended:thumbup:

4: Didn't get stabbed.

To be fair, Glasgow city centre is an absolute shit tip, but if you know your way around and venture further afield, it can be a fabulous place to visit.

My lad works in The Horseshoe Bar .... I know the upstairs, singalong bar is a Glasgow institution, but the downstairs bar is longest single bar in Britain. Worth a visit.

We rented a flat near the Botanic Gardens for a few days about five years ago - lovely area of a great city

Mr Singh’s does haggis pakora and it is one of the best things you’ll eat

The Prince of Wales in Aberdeen always made that claim?

I’ve always thought it gets a very harsh rap as a city - plenty to do and pretty lively, locals friendly for the most part and nice architecture in places.

Was over for a wedding there about 5 years ago and stopped for a pizza in a pub near St Enoch's square (can't recall the name).

Best pizza I've ever had, the tomato sauce they used was incredible. Also only cost 5 or 6 quid amazingly. So Glasgow gets a big thumbs up from me

The Banksy exhibition was excellent (went on Thursday evening) - highly recommended!
