I wonder what a good outcome for Namibia will look like.

Like what can the coach say to the players to get the up for the game, when everybody knows it will be a spanking.

We were very spoiled with the first weekend. Now it’s probably only one more game worth watching in each pool over the next several weeks, and then time for the QF’s( for the rest of you)

Thought it would be a good match to try Jordan at fullback as well... it should be a 70 pointer... so nothing to lose really...

I wonder how D Mac will manage with BB at “dual pivot”.

Still hoping Fozzie could turn into a coach I see, I applaud your belief

If Namibia can keep this one under 50, then I would say they would be happy enough. Personally would be going for the win against this dysfunctional AB outfit

I’d actually forgotten that. D-Mac seemed pretty on fire in the black jersey.

Maybe it’s not a bad pairing.

He wasn't that flash in Bled 2, mind.

That's the problem with these supposedly low pressure games, you don't really learn a lot about players. They can look a million dollars without being able to show they're capable of weathering the intense heat of a top level opponent in a KO test.

Anyway... Clarke at 14 has given me a good laugh this morning.

It got me thinking “Who is your Clarke?”

I think for me it’s Sam Cane.

He’s become such a useless lump.

I used to absolutely love the guy. But he’s been far off for a very long time now. In fact I’d go as far to say it’s been since he broke his neck. He should have retired.

Cane will come right by the quarter finals, if we make it that far. Could be too little too late by then of course. We still have to get past Italy.

Exactly what I just posted on PR... since that broken neck he has not been the same.. it was like he aged ten years when he came back... slower and injury prone... and misses tackles like he never used to. Gets carded a lot too. I would take Sam Cane pre-neck injury in a heartbeat... now he is the Caleb Clarke of the forwards... actually not even Caleb Clarke.. more Scott Hamilton...

Wallabies great David Campese has apparently stated NZ won't make the semis, really Dave, not keeping up on common opinion at the moment are you. People were stating this weeks ago.

Yep. It’s looking like we are either tanking early after loss to Italy, or we beat them and then face SA in the QF.

It’s hardly a profound opinion

Guess he doesn't want to acknowledge the Wobs are being beaten by a tier 2 outfit, sad really

The best ever rugby player from Namibia (Suidwes) was Jan Ellis.
Genslin
Jan Ellis : Doc Craven
Jan Ellis in many respects, was a marvel. He made his reputation in South West Africa, well away from the main centres of recognised rugby and it took a great deal of determination as well as talent to rise to the top.

Only a very gifted player could do that because you only play as well as your company allows. The company you play in tends to restrict you - and with respect, he was not playing in the best of company when he represented South West Africa.

Yet he became a Springbok and he remained a Bok for a long time. Jan also had a difficult temperament, because he was an artist, and this did not always help him.

But he gave South Africa wonderful service in his many years of test rugby, 11 years in all. It takes a great player to play at international level for so long while out of the recognised mainstream.

It's the red hair.

When I was a kid we played rugby in the park. One kid had to sit in the tree and did the commentary, he was Gerhard Viviers. Us players picked our names. I always pick Jan Ellis. He was my hero, probably because I grow up on the border of Namibia.

Were you a flanker too?

I see he played NZ in 1976... and had a bit of a temper? That's the first series in South Africa I remember watching... I remember Gerald Bosch mesmerised me at the time... it was like he had the ball on a string...
