I think Cazaghe would beat Froch on points by a pretty wide margin.
Boxing thread
Aye I think it was Dan Rafael that said there has seldom been a boxer more open to that than Whyte. You'd think he'd have learned after the Joshua fight.
George Kambosos vs Devin Haney kicking off shortly.

I was looking forward to this fight but it turned out to be a bit of a bit of a damp squib. Kambosos was plodding and didn't do anything to unsettle Haney or force him to make adjustments. I can't see any reason for a rematch and hope that the clause is not invoked.Gumboot wrote: ↑Sun Jun 05, 2022 3:14 am George Kambosos vs Devin Haney kicking off shortly.

A little dose of schadenfreude to make you feel happy this morning!
Reckon he could make a decent case for self defence, the bloke had just thrown a punch at someone and was walking towards him with his fists raised. Deserved it.Saw that. Francis will do well to avoid trouble off the back of that.
That non stopping ref was a tough watch.

Exactly. If the KO'd guy was a boxer or UFC fighter he could do serious damage with a punch. Even to a big bloke. Francis will possibly struggle to defend his excessive use of force in court. He was fully justified though imo. The little prick was in a state and could easily have loosed a nose busting jab. His aggressive intent was clear.Slick wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 9:26 amReckon he could make a decent case for self defence, the bloke had just thrown a punch at someone and was walking towards him with his fists raised. Frazer
I think he'd be cleared eventually just the hassle of potentially having to speak to police and waiting on whether he'd be charged or not. Not that speaking to the police is a hassle but dealing with this could be.Slick wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 9:26 amReckon he could make a decent case for self defence, the bloke had just thrown a punch at someone and was walking towards him with his fists raised. Ref was disgraceful as was his corner. Can't recall a doctor stepping in mid round uninvited before.

Probably needs a copper's view, but I doubt he'd get charged with that.Big D wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 2:51 pmI think he'd be cleared eventually just the hassle of potentially having to speak to police and waiting on whether he'd be charged or not. The guy's all aggro, swinging at others. Advances on him and sticks his hand in his face. You'd surely never secure a conviction with that.
Potential to be a bit of hassle for him though all the same.
Admittedly I was pissed watching it, but the judges seemed wildly generous to Joshua last night. I feel a bit sorry for AJ really, he's not a good enough boxer or a big enough bully to compete any more so he's going to remembered as another Frank Bruno even though he's better than that.
I'd love to know what happened to him mentally that's shattered his confidence so much even before the Ruiz fight. The Joshua who got off the floor to knock out Klitschko totally disappeared and he became increasingly gun-shy and obsessed with being regarded as a boxer not a puncher, and seemingly worried about his weak chin. Something changed in his mentality and it took away his strengths and has left him a worse fighter.
And of course Usyk is a phenomenal fighter.

One of the commentators said something about his seconds telling him he was winning half way through the fight.
The judge who scored it for Joshua -----
Is a brit, should be banned from judging.Glaston wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 7:51 amOne of the commentators said something about his seconds telling him he was winning half way through the fight.

Also Fury is the lineal champion, though that doesn't count for much.
Yeah, loads of stuff about him having a rant and all a bit mad - he’d just been getting punched in the head for an hour ffs

Joshua gets a lot of hate for several reasons, most of them nonsense. He isn't as good as Usyk or Fury but they are elite talents in the modern day. He and Wilder are very similar and both are better than the rest that aren't Fury or Usyk. He deserves credit for what he has achieved after boxing for only 15 years total.
Usyk is a fabulous boxer, P4P one of the top 3 or 4 in the world. No disgrace in being beaten easily by him. What he has done in relatively few fights is very impressive. He would lose to Fry but that is a lot to do with size rather than skills.

The only thing Fury will fight for is money, ie "nothing left to prove". Usyk would own him and he knows it.Big D wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 7:44 am Joshua gets a lot of hate for several reasons, most of them nonsense.
