Anyone got a robot vacuum?

So just picked up a bargain (pricing error I think), and it's scheduled for delivery today. Ecovacs t10+.

Just wondering if anyone has one of these and if they have, do you have any tips or advice? We've got all hard floors and live in a bungalow so hopefully that makes some things easier. We're a long haired family though.

I've had one for a few years (need a new one now as it's not picking up well anymore). It's great on hard floors, not so good on carpets. If it's one you can set a schedule on, it'll start and potter about the house for an hour or so every day when you're at work and get most of the dust up.

Edit - it can scare the shit out of you if you're lying in bed with a hangover at the weekend and it starts up though.

Shorter on the sides of the head, much longer on the top, much much much longer on the face, and the body looks about right. The wife and boy lack the body/facial hair, but outdo me on the head hair.

Yeah, it's a smart one, think I can even yell at it to clean certain spots if I need it. We don't have carpets, so no issue there. Idea will be to have it run around and clean up the little bits and pieces. Missus insists on mopping and doesn't want it to, so we'll disable that. Has a station that it empties itself in too, so don't have to worry about that too often either. I've been fancying one for a while, thinking about grabbing a cheap £100-150 one to see how well it works, and then maybe upgrading. Happened to be browsing a few days ago, and noticed that this model (normally £400-£500) was £399 in amazon with a £250 off clickable voucher... clearly a misprice, but decided to try it, worst that could happen is I get my money back when it's cancelled. They fixed the voucher about 24 hours later (£50 off) but it's been dispatched and should arrive today. Bargain!

Have a Eufy - they are great at doing a light clean on carpets and help you keep on top of the mess kids and pets make, just remember to put your PlayStation away - had the fucker drag one of my controllers into the kitchen , was like the Scutter from red dwarf !

The amount of hairbands they seem to find, is unreal. Thousands !

Controller lives with the Xbox, and this one has a camera on the front to see that sort of thing hopefully! Hairbands could end up an issue though!

How the hell is a really geeky tech solution for vacuuming anything but pure masculinity!

We've called it Broomhilda.

You think a robovac is a geeky tech thing? if it had flamethrowers attached for killing spiders/cats, i might agree, but it just wanders over the floor picking up dust...meh...it sits in the same category as a 3D Nail Printing Robot Nail Painting Machine

It's got a camera I can look through and two way audio. Wouldn't take much work to arm it I reckon.

Ours is called Helga and I've stuck googly eyes on her

It's quite fun watching the map at the pub as it cleans.

I first looked at the one that our SiL had - $3k?!!

I bought one that was around $600 - does exactly the same job

Some are really expensive. The one we've got was originally something like £800 when released. £400-500 now, and a mispriced voucher meant I got it for £150, so I'm chuffed. It's in place and charged now, just need to get ready to let it do it's first map.

I've seen some with R2D2 designs

We've got a pair of Roombas, covering different areas of the house divided by a step. They are brilliant.
