$hark$ 2023 and beyond
He had his chances. Never made anything of it. No loss at all. We have outstanding talent at flyhalf. Look at the coaches. Goosen was in the same position as him last weekend and won the game for the Bulls. When Boeta had his chance. He fluffed it. Life is about taking your opportunities when they come.

Good luck to them all. I hope he can improve on his handling skills there.OomStruisbaai wrote: βTue Feb 13, 2024 9:39 am https://x.com/Canon_Eagles/status/17572 ... 62510?s=20

If I remember correctly he is a fundamentalist and not easy to get along with.
Yes I've heard that too. He hasn't been injured all this time either, there has clearly been a clash in the changerooms. I wouldn't mind seeing some other deadweight leave with him.
Eben out for several weeks. Lovely.
: Sharks head coach John Plumtree has opened up on his frustration with injuries in his camp as they prepare to face the Stormers in their United Rugby Championship clash in Durban.
The Sharks are currently sitting at the bottom of the URC standings with just one win from their nine games after battling to find consistency all season.
Plumtreeβs side has suffered some big injury blows to top players and on Tuesday he revealed that Eben Etzebeth will spend some extra time away from the game after having a knee operation.
Etzebethβs last outing for the Sharks was off the bench against Oyonnax in the Challenge Cup on January 13.
βWe know that we got a really strong pack, but I havenβt been able to put that pack on the park,β Plumtree told reporters.
βWe got injuries to key players and that has probably been the biggest frustration for me.
βWe probably had six operations to tight-five players. Itβs been really tough to have the depth that we needed up front.β
Plumtree added: βItβs a long season and I do feel like I have been handicapped by the fact that I have had a lot of injuries.
βWe are now in February and it is Bongiβs [Mbonambi] first game coming up and he is our No.1 hooker.
βEben Etzebeth has started playing and now he had a knee operation, so he is only getting back in a few weeks.
βIt has been a bit frustrating that I havenβt been able to put out the pack that I want to.β
Besides Mbonambi, Vincent Koch is also expected to return to the playing field after a lengthy lay-off since the World Cup.
However, when pressed to reveal which Boks will be playing against the Stormers, Plumtree said: βIβll name the team on Friday but I will say there are Springboks rested and there are Springboks still injured.
βLukhanyo [Am] is playing. It [rest period] is not ideal but we understand the importance of it because we have a long season of playing Northern Hemisphere rugby and Southern Hemisphere rugby, which is crazy
βSo, until the South African players are playing in one hemisphere and committed to one hemisphere, there is going to be a lot of disruption.
βHopefully, that will happen over the next couple of years.β

Sharks have Bongi & Koch back and will field a Springbok frontrow. The Stormers without their best players. Sharks the favorites at home by some distance.
Bok team for tomorrow:
Sharks: 15 Aphelele Fassi, 14 Werner Kok, 13 Lukhanyo Am (captain), 12 Francois Venter, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Curwin Bosch, 9 Jaden Hendrikse, 8 Phepsi Buthelezi, 7 Lappies Labuschagne, 6 James Venter, 5 Gerbrandt Grobler, 4 Le Roux Roets, 3 Hanro Jacobs, 2 Fez Mbatha, 1 Ox Nche.
Replacements: 16 Bongi Mbonambi, 17 Ntuthuko Mchunu, 18 Coenie Oosthuizen, 19 Hyron Andrews, 20 Vincent Tshituka, 21 Bradley Davids, 22 Siya Masuku, 23 Aphiwe Dyantyi.
I'm not particularly excited about our starting XV, but nice to see some familiar faces coming back from injury.

Nogal the Bok team. Stormers better play out of their skin to have a chanceassfly wrote: βFri Feb 16, 2024 7:54 am Bok team for tomorrow:

The $harks have been very smart in entering into agreements with the Pumas and Border Unions.
The $harks will bring financial stability to the Border Union in exchange for players.
The $harks will become the Pumas strategic partner in a commercial exchange.
So, going back to their roots, the $harks can't develop their own players. They have basically just bought the Border and Pumas to develop players for them. They will take the pick of the Borders backs and the big bruising forwards from Nelspruit.
How long until we see Jimmy Stonehouse at Kings Park?
He can't do any worse than Plumtree.

Plumtree wants only players who love the Sharks. At the moment only Ox our poster qualifies. Sards fails, he flounce.
Expected result, but there is reason for hope. We looked better in the 2nd half as I thought we would.
I like the look of Masuku. Great to see a KZN player come back to his roots. I'd be happy never to see Bosch again. It was so nice to see a 10 take the ball up to the line, even if he looked a bit rusty.
Our pack looked much better with Vincent Tshituka and Bongi on the field. Can't want to see Koch play too.

Yes he did well I thought, very hungry and confident to use his size and pace. Would much prefer him to start and try do something around that, building to Hendrikse arrival.assfly wrote: βSun Feb 18, 2024 1:32 pm Expected result, but there is reason for hope. Jaden seemed to have a poor game to me, still off form.
I really like him, but I don't think he plays well with Bosch. You can't have a 9 and 10 who both want to hoof the ball at every change. I'd rather have one of them taking the ball up or giving us some variety.TheNatalShark wrote: βSun Feb 18, 2024 9:45 pm Jaden seemed to have a poor game to me, still off form.
I'd like to see Williams and Masuku play together too.

Sharks pay R12 million transfer fee for AE.
Lot of money for an elderly 12 to chase Bosch's kicks.
Jason Jenkins confirmed as coming to the $harks.

If he gets going he might be just the right signing.

Best news ever. And Jason Jenkins. Going to be awesome. Great way to start a vokked up day.
